Yasu's mood was quite foul as he walked home. Running into the Prime Minister's daughter was like stepping in dog poop. The stink of his encounter with her was something that lingered no matter how much he tried to wipe it away.
"Young Master!" Gin shouted once he saw Yasu enter through the back courtyard gate. "Welcome back."
Yasu's mood immediately lightened up once he saw the loyal man waving at him. If Yasu didn't know better, he would have believed that Gin have been waiting for Yasu by the back courtyard gate since the moment Yasu left.
"Mhmmm." Yasu answered as he reached up to pat Gin's head. Gin reminded Yasu of a cuddly and fluffy puppy. "I'm back."
Gin smile widen as he tilted his head down further to let Yasu pat his head more.
"Did you run into any trouble?" Gin asked as they walked to the main house.
"Just stepped into some dog poop." Yasu told him.
"Ah! Young Lord, give me your shoe so I can clean them!" Gin offered as he bent down to take off Yasu's shoe.
"No need for such dramatic matter." Yasu told him as he sat down. "I'll handle the clean up if it happens again."
Gin's eyebrows scrunched together not understanding Yasu's words.
"You don't smell like you stepped in dog poop." Gin said as he sniffed the air.
Yasu laughed then explained to Gin what happened during his morning outing.
"That wench wanted to cause trouble for you!" Gin shouted in anger. "Should we cause trouble for her?"
"Not yet." Yasu said. "We still need her services here at Black Fox Teahouse. In the meantime, just quietly observe her and serve her well. If she wants to find trouble for me next time, I'll take care of her."
"Young Master." Gin said in a serious tone. "The thing you wanted me to find out, needs a couple of more days. I need to confirm a couple of more facts before I report my findings."
Yasu nodded his head and dismissed Gin. What is a couple more days of waiting when he has waited for 5 years already.
That evening Yasu saw someone he never would have thought to see again so soon. Yasu thought he would see that man once he got closer to his goal of revenge. However with his bad luck that he had that morning, he received good luck that evening as well.
Yasu sat in his office in Black Fox Teahouse. He was teaching Gin how to record the daily accountings for Black Fox Teahouse. Kin knocked on the door and entered quietly bowing to Yasu before walking up to him and whispering in his ear.
"Young Master." Kin whispered softly. "We received word that one of our members, Fuyin, will be bringing with him the third Prince. He asks that everything be prepared properly for them."
Yasu nodded his head in understanding.
"Do it then. We can't afford to offend royalty." Yasu said.
Kin nodded his head and left the room to prepare for their important guests.
"We will continue tomorrow." Yasu told Gin. "We have important guests that need our attention."
Yasu and Gin left the office to help the kitchen. The snacks that they provided were made with more detail. The tea set was carefully selected along with the tea.
The moment that the rooms were cleaned, Yasu looked over each room to make sure each detail was perfect before leaving once again. Yasu then made sure the first floor was clean and tidy before nodding his head to Gin to open the door for the customers.
Fuyin had reserved the largest room and had requested for another table to be added to accommodate his guests. Fuyin stepped through the door first with a bowed back as he welcomed the Third Prince inside.
The moment Yasu saw the tall man beside Fuyin, Yasu quickly stepped back and slowly made his way around the corner to hide. Luckily Yasu had stood in the back of his servants, who were lined up to receive the guests. Yasu's eyes stayed on the Third Prince as he backed away. The moment he pressed his back around the corner wall he closed his eyes as waves of fury ran through his body.
Memories of that fateful day ran through his mind. The fear, the anger, the sorrow that he felt was relived once again. His breath came fast and heavy as he closed his eyes shut and his hands became fists by his side.
"Welcome to Black Fox Teahouse!" Everyone said in unison as they bowed to the guests.
"Please follow me to your room." Gin said as he took charge and showed them to their private room.
Yasu could barely hear the conversations that the guests made as they looked around the room before following Gin upstairs.
Once the first group entered their room, Kazno stepped up and welcomed the second group of customers with the same service and discipline that they were taught. Next to welcome the customers was Akeme. The moment the door closed, Michi, Nao and Kin quickly entered the kitchen to begin their work.
The tea sets were already on trays as they brought them up. Haru left through the back door to enter the garden to begin his shift to play the koto. Natsu and Aki was tasked to attend the guest's guards and servants who sat at the tables on the first floor. Fuyu and Kou were tasked to serve Fuyin and the Third Prince's room.
Michi, Nao, Kin and Haru saw the horrible state that Yasu was in, but they didn't bother him. They knew they had work to do and would send word to Gin to take care of Yasu.
"Young Master. Young Master." Gin said as he tapped Yasu's shoulder. When Yasu didn't answer, Gin slid his hand down Yasu's arm and held his hand. "Young Master. Calm down. It's alright."
Yasu's breaths came heavier and heavier as he relived each moment of his past that fateful day over and over.
"Young Master!" Gin said helplessly. He didn't know what was wrong with Yasu. Nor did he know what to do to help him. The only thing he thought might help Yasu was to hold him.
The moment he wrapped his arms around Yasu, he could feel Yasu's tight and rigid body slowly relax. Gin tightened his arms around Yasu and brought him closer to Gin's body.
Yasu's natural fragrance intoxicated Gin even more. The feeling of protecting Yasu and cherishing him became even more pronounced with Yasu in his arms. Yasu's trembling body began to lean into Gin's embrace as if he needed Gin's warmth.
"It's okay. Everything's going to be alright. I'm here." Gin whispered softly into Yasu's ear. "I'm here."
