Chapter 5

{Autumn}

I ran away tearing up until I banged into someone older.

"Eh pretty girl come to papa" the guy said touching me and I was afraid so I kept running until I reached my house. His breath smelled like alcohol.

I ran to the kitchen as soon as possible looking for a knife and I ran into my bathroom. I rolled up my sleeves and I took the knife slitting a deep cut onto my hand.

I squeezed it because it hurt and bleeding in pain and more blood was coming out. I moaned in pain and suffering. My head hurt and it was spinning and I couldn't help but to panic and my vision just blacks out.

I woke up to the sound of a person crying. I cleared my eyes and it was obviously mom.

"Autumn how could you this to yourself. Please stop! I don't want to see you like this" she said crying with heartache.

"Mom I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It was just that I..." I couldn't continue my sentence because I knew I hurt her so badly.

The doctor said I could leave in five days but I couldn't leave mom alone. The only reason I had to stay for five days was because I lost a lot of blood and I was weak. I didn't mind taking a break from those horrible people at school.

But that means I have to be drugged most of the time. Taking medications are just horrible.

{Luke}

I took the same route to school where Autumn usually uses to walk to school and I didn't see her, she was always right on time but I didn't see her at all maybe she was just a little late but she's also never late.

Class started and I watched as the class start to fill with students. That one empty spot where she normally sat was empty.

When class started Calum shouted:

"Teacher where's that horrifying nerdy girl??? Because she's always early"

"Well do you mean Autumn? Well she wont be attending school for a couple of days because of some private things which I'm not allowed to reveal"

"Pfft! Who needs that nerd?"

"Calum please be respectful or not you'll spend 5 days of detention!"

What happened to her is what I need to know immediately, it could have been my fault. When it was recess I peeked my ears through the principals office door and it seemed like he was talking on the phone.

"Oh yes Autumn's mom. What's the matter?"

"She's at the hospital??? Well it wouldn't be a problem if she couldn't come to school. I hope she gets well soon. Well goodbye Mrs. Jones" then he puts down the phone.

Suddenly someone grabs me by my left ear.

"What are you doing here Mr. Hemmings?"

"I was just....I..."

"Please leave now" so I left.

I feel really bad now, what could have happened to her? I need her number but who the hell has it.

It was dark the school was closed and maybe I could get her number from her school file. It's like they store every information about the students in there so I decided to sneak into school.
