It's been days since Bran had fallen from the tower. Lady Catelyn hasn't left her son's bedside since they found him, and Adaya had been sitting with her, keeping her company.
Ned would be leaving soon, and the young Tyrell girl could tell it was affecting Lady Stark. The woman had barely slept, despite her husband's approaching departure, and it was noticeable by the dark rings under her eyes.
Just then, the sound of soft footsteps were heard from the hallway. Turning her head, Adaya saw as the queen walked through the door.
Lady Catelyn and the girl started to rise but she held her hand up. "Please."
The two Starks sat down before my mother by law spoke. "I would have dressed, your Grace."
"This is your home. I'm your guest." The Queen said before approaching Bran's bed, looking st the sleeping boy who occupied it. "Handsome one, isn't he? I lost my first boy, a little black-haired beauty. He was a fighter too... Tried to beat the fever that took him. Forgive me. It's the last thing you need to hear right now."
Adaya stayed silent as Cersei spoke, not wanting to say something that might upset her. "I never knew." Lady Stark said softly.
"It was years ago. Robert was crazed, beat his hands bloody on the wall, all the things men do to show you how much they care... The boy looked just like him. Such a little thing... A bird without feathers. They came to take his body away and Robert held me. I screamed and I battled, but he held me. That little bundle. They took him away and I never saw him again. Never have visited the crypt, never." The Lannister woman said, tears welling up in her eyes. "I pray to the Mother every morning and night that she return your child to you."
"I am grateful."
"Perhaps this time she'll listen." Cersei said before turning and exiting the room, closing the door behind her.
Adaya sighed, opening the book she had sitting on the small wooden table beside her. "She is an interesting woman, isn't she?"
Cat nodded slowly. "That she is, Adaya. That she is."
The door opened again and, this time, the young girl's husband walked in. Robb smiled lightly before closing the door and approaching his wife. "I thought I would find you in here. Have you ate yet?"
Adaya shook her head. "No, not yet. I've been keeping your mother company. I was going to-"
"Get your supper." Lady Catelyn spoke up, causing the girl's attention to turn to the older woman. "I will be here awhile. I don't want you or the little one to go hungry."
Adaya smiled at kindly at her husband's mother. "I'll be back."
Catelyn didn't reply. She just kept to her knitting as the two young Starks left the room, leaving the woman alone with her resting son.
