Many years had passed since Adaya begged her trusted friend to take her baby away. And, over all those years, she hadn't once broken her promise to the northern queen; she had protected Lyanna Stark with her life. She had taken her to the one place she would ever truly be safe and out of the reach of the Lannisters; Volantis.

Talisa had raised the girl as her own, but never once did she lie to the little girl about who she was or who her parents were. Often would Lyanna ask to hear stories about them to lull her to sleep, and Talisa would happily oblige.

"What were they like?" Lyanna asked for the first time, many months ago.

Talisa looked up from her work and over to the little girl, who looked so much now like her father that it almost startled the woman. Her eyes had darkened from their baby blue to a chestnut brown, but her dark locks that matched her fathers seemed to stay the same, now just much longer. Her face was round like her mother's, but she didn't have many of her features; she was more Stark than Tyrell.

"Who, my dear?" She asked.

"My mother." The girl said softly. "And my father."

The nurse sighed softly as she set down her equipment and walked over to the little northern princess, kneeling down in front of where she sat. "Where do I even begin?" She breathed out with a smile.

Little Lyanna giggled softly before her face went serious again, but her brown eyes were filled with wonder. "From the beginning."

"Well," The nurse said as she sat in the chair across from the young Stark. "I was a nurse, you see, helping out the injured men in the war. I first came to acquaintance with your mother when she was bringing you into this world." Talisa told her with a smile, tapping her finger lightly on the little girl's nose.

Lyanna laughed softly before her eyes begged the nurse to go on, which she did. "I admired your mother. I truly did. She never acted for herself; everything she did was for the sake of her family and her people. The same could be said about your father. They truly were like gods in the eyes of their men; everyone admired and followed them without a second thought. Never once were they cruel towards anyone, even when everyone thought they should have been."

Talisa reached forwards and grabbed the little girl's hands, holding them gently in her own. "The last time I spoke with your mother was the night she put you in my care." She could feel tears brimming in her eyes at the thought of her friend, but the nurse carried on. "She begged me to take you away; to keep you safe. To protect you. And I made sure to keep that promise, and I don't intend of breaking it anytime soon."

Lyanna smiled ever so slightly as she looked at her motherly figure in admiration. "You loved her, didn't you?"

Talisa nodded, the tears rolling down her cheeks. "I did. She was my truest friend. The first and last, I'm afraid."

"And...what happened to them? My parents?"

"They died." The nurse spoke, so softly it came out as almost a whisper. "The night I took you away, they were killed by their enemies." Talisa knew she probably should be telling such a young girl this, but she couldn't lie to her either. She needed to know the truth.

The Stark girl looked down at her hands, which were intertwined in her lap. Talisa could see the glistening in her eyes as she tried to stay strong.

The nurse moved and sat beside the young girl, pulling her into a tight embrace. "It's ok, my girl." Talisa lowered her voice to a whisper as she soothed the girl. "She loves got so much. They both did. They wouldn't want you to be crying over them. They'd want you to be strong."

"And they wouldn't want to have died for nothing." The girl spoke, the anger and sorrow clear in her voice as she looked up at Talisa. "I want to avenge them."

The nurse took a moment to realize just how similar Lyanna was to her mother. How she was strong and feisty with a soft and fragile exterior. A small smirk came to Talisa's face as she looked down at the girl. "With time, my dear, you will."
