• session five — session fifty-three | Love

Harleen got excited to have the usual session with the patient that is assigned in cell 001, the Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker himself.

She was really happy because of his gift. A pudding, which she ate right after the session. And it felt like that certain pudding changed her. Changed the way her heart beats everytime she thinks of him, everytime she would remember his psychotic laughs and giggles.

She already fell in love.

Her heels was the only thing audible as she walked through the halls, her notepad hugged close to her chest with the pen, already on her way to cell 001, Joker's cell.

"Mister J." Harleen called as she then entered the room to see Joker sitting on his bed instead on the chair.

"You're pretty early, Doctor." He stated, pouting a bit at how she was 10 minutes early than the usual session.

"We haven't had a proper session yesterday, Mister J." She sighs, and walked pass the table and chairs and stood in front of Joker who is still sitting on his bed. "Our session will end early, too. Don't worry."

"Oh, no. I don't worry." Joker dragged out, "I like the company." He chuckles before laying back down to his bed.

"Let's talk about Love."

The sudden topic made Joker wonder. He hasn't asked about that. And he didn't know what to actually say. But he just cared less on even answering properly or not. He answers it in which way he wishes. And Harleen respected and understood that.

Joker then was forced by his own body to sit back up, his feet now laying on the floor as his eyes looked up to the female standing before him. "Love.." He groans, looking back down to the floor as if he was thinking so focused. "Love..." He repeated, his head turning side to side, and tilting slowly as he looked at Harleen, "I think Love is just a word that... Distracts you." He explains, obviously explaining his own opinion, "And I don't do that. No, no. The Joker doesn't fall in love." He laughs, before looking at her again. "You? Are you in love?" He smirks. He knows she would answer yes eventually.

"No."

"Lies, lies, lies." Joker sang out, "Those pretty lies will get you all beautiful, honey." He licks his red lips before turning back to her again, "Those beautiful, white lies aren't gonna get you alive, either."

"I brought this for you."

Harleen gave him a big smile as she pulls out a Kitten Doll in front of him, "You told me you love kittens." She spoke again, waving the small doll back and forth in front of him.

"Aw, you're so cute." He spoke, leaning forward to her as she leaned forward as well, getting closer with him.

Harleen bit her bottom lip as she looked down at the Kitten Doll she held, "This is just a payback of the pudding you gave me." She stated as her head went back up and stared at his icy blue eyes.

"You didn't have to, Harley."

"But I wanted to." She stubbornly replies with a small pout.

It's been a month and almost a half since they have started having sessions. And everyday, Harleen falls in love with the psycho himself, seeing him so innocent and fragile, like a little kid. She wanted to bring him out of  Arkham Asylum, but she still needed to maintain her profession in front of everyone.

"You can repay me with one thing." Joker smirks, taking the advantage. "I just need something right now."

"What? What is it?" Harleen asks as she then looks at him, pulling up her spectacles.

"I need a machine gun."
