• chapter thirty-two | Call

"Red! Stop!"

I shouted when Ivy started digging through my closet. Whining as long as I could as I laid down on the floor and clinged onto her leg, she continued on looking through my clothes. "What are ya even finding in there?" I questioned, muttering as I grabbed onto her leggings tight.

"Something!" She replied, smiling cheekily at me as she continued on.

It took a moment when she finally took out all of the clothes in my closet and dug at the very bottom of the stack. "Ah-hah!" She shouted, pulling out a red notebook in to the air with a smile of sweet victory.

Fuck.

"Red! Give it back!"

It was my diary, I have been writing on it ever since I chose to stick by Mistah J's side. Yes, three years, and until this day, I write on it. Well, often.

It had a small lock on it as if it was a safe or somethin'. Even Mistah J doesn't know I have my personal diary. A red notebook with a black heart designed at the middle of the hard cover. It had writings on it like 'Hahaha', 'Puddin', 'J x H' and lines that represented the days I've been writing on the notebook. I was actually planning on to keep this notebook until the day I die, or even become normal and live in a normal lifestyle. Dreaming my children would read it when they reach the right age to read cusses legally.

But hey, I learned how to cuss when I was eight.

But then again, I don't want my kids to experience a poor family like I and Mistah J had. Though, it may seem he could hurt the kids, but I bet he would restrain himself and keep his fatherly role for all of our sake.

"Let's see," She gave me a smirk as she began unlocking the lock and went through each page, reading its dates written at the far right corners of the paper. "Ooh!" She cheered right after she stopped at a page, maybe third to the last one I just wrote last week. "Dear Diary." She began with a smug smirk on her face as she began reading what was written on the paper.

I began whining and just laid on the ground in defeat, picking up the pillow on the floor and slammed it on my face, letting out a muffled scream. "I asked if Puddin' could take me to this new fancy restaurant a few blocks off. I've heard people said the meals served there are drop dead delicious." Ivy continued on reading, giggling to herself.

She sat down on the bed and made herself comfortable as she continued on reading, not even minding me on the floor, still the pillow on my face. "Sadly, he just yelled at me and made me wait on the bedroom." She imitated a small pout and kept her eyes down on the notebook. "But an hour later, he came out of his office wearing an Italian Tuxedo and said we're going for a drive!" She cheered, mocking out my cheery and flustered expression. Cupping both of her cheeks tight and spoke in a tiny voice.

"Red!" I shouted, shooting up from the floor and threw the pillow to her face as hard as I could.

She was about to attack me back with another black pillow, but then we both froze when my phone vibrated. It's screen lit up as the pink cased phone vibrated on top of the dresser. I stood up and giggled at Ivy before I took a look at the one who's calling. It was an Unknown Number, it gave me hesitation to even answer, but the green phone symbol to answer the call got my attention. I pressed on it and placed my phone on my ear, "Hello?"

"I'm on my way home, pumpkin." The familiar deep voice went through my ear drum and down to my mind and heart, lighting it up brightly. "Can't wait to cuddle with ya." He chuckled, I bit my bottom lip, twirling the ends of my hair in excitement.

Just by hearing his deep voice made me excited and jump. "Can't wait to hug ya again, puddin'!"
