Port Mafia
"Good job for doing the work in the west" said Mori with his so called "boss" tone.
"No, I just did what you told me to do, boss" Chuuya replied with his utmost politeness, a trait that his old partner used to mock him about as he only talked like that to only Mori, his boss.
"Well, you must be tired from all those six months. Take rest for about a week" said Mori with his eyes on the documents that was in front of him.
"Ah, no, that will be not necess." Chuuya said before Mori cut him off.
"Take a rest" Mori said as if demanding him to do so.
"As you wish, boss" Chuuya retained himself from protesting any further that he could even run ten miles.
"You can go home now, Chuuya-kun. Take good care of your health" Mori said as he did not want his precious pawn to die from such thing as overwork.
"Yes sir" Chuuya said and then as his boss told him so, he returned to his home.
Chuuya's home
It had been six months when he returned to his so called 'home'. It was an apartment provided to him by Mori to stay. The only thing in that apartment which was his was his own wine collection. Everything else was provided by Port Mafia. After six months of fighting in the west where there wasn't any time for him to drink a wine, he really wanted to have a drink. He took out the first one he saw, took out a glass and went to his couch. He poured out a drink for himself and gulped down all the drink in one go.
"Ah, it's been a while since I got some peace and quiet like this" he thought as he poured another drink.
"Now that I think about it, on the way to headquarters, I think I saw Haru..." he talked to himself. After a while, he bursted out laughing.
"I must be pretty drunk to think that I saw her. There's no way that guy would leave her alone like that. With no defenses and whatsoever. Ah, I must be pretty drunk although it's only the second glass" he talked to himself out aloud. And then he poured himself another glass.
"If it was truly her then, she must have grown out her hair. Even though I told her many times that she would look good in long hair, she would cut it whenever it grew from under her ear" he thought as he drank and drank more glasses.
"Uh, what am I thinking about? Don't tell me that I feel kind of homesick after leaving Japan for six months? After all those years, I started to miss her now? Hahahahahaha DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!" Chuuya shouted after he finished his last glass.

"She's a traitor. And to Port Mafia, traitor means death" said Chuuya with his voice trembling unable to contain his emotions.

Flashback

"..Sorry...I'M REALLY SORRY" Haru said with tears streaming down her usual poker face as she spoke up. And then, she ran out of the door, leaving a note that said "I'm sorry".

Present

"Why......did it happen like that?" Chuuya wondered what triggered his old partner and his so called "friend" to leave the Port Mafia when they themselves were the one who invited him to join. And as he wondered, his mind slowly drifted away with all those wine taking effect and he fell into a deep slumber.

Past (about six years ago)

"Hey, is it that delicious?" Chuuya who was seventeen, asked Haru who was eleven. They were sitting on the top of an abandoned building near the Port Mafia's headquarters.

"....Yes" Haru answered, with her eating a thing called "crepe".

"Is that so? I don't understand. No matter how high class food I bring to you, you would not eat like you are right now" stated Chuuya saying to Haru who was happily eating down the crepe to the last bit.

"...How?" asked Haru after she chewed her last piece down to her stomach.

"You, you are eating like it's the most delicious thing in the world and you might not notice it yourself but you are smiling, you know, Haru" Chuuya stated while looking straight into Haru's blue eyes.

"Uh...Don't...tease..me, Chuuya-niisan" Haru said with a little red on her face.

"Haha, Is that so?" Chuuya laughed softly.

"Hey, what are you two always doing here?" stated a voice from behind, startling the two.

"Oii, you useless bastard, don't sneak up on behind us" Chuuya shouted to Dazai who was standing behind him.

"What, It was not like I was sneaking up on you. You two were the ones who were so absorbed in their conversation that you did not notice me closing up on you guys" Dazai said with his eyes glaring at Haru. And Haru seemed to notice the glare and she flinched a little. "If it was an assassin then you would have lost your life. Do you get it, Haru?" Dazai said with a cold tone which he always used to speak to his enemies.

"..Y...yes,..Dazai..-san" Haru said while trembling, not daring to look into Dazai's eyes.

"Oii, you don't need to say it like that!!!" Chuuya shouted while grabbing Dazai's collars.

"And Mori-san said there was a new mission. Come to the boss room quickly. Isn't it rude to make the boss waiting, shortie?" Dazai told Chuuya as if he wanted whatever mission that the boss had to finish quickly.

"Who did you just called "shortie",huh?" Chuuya made his grip around Dazai's collars stronger.

"Stop....STOP IT,the two of you" Haru said getting in between their fight.

"Anyway, after you finish whatever business you have here, finish it up and come quickly. I will be going first" said Dazai after freeing himself from Chuuya's grip and turned his back to the two of them.

"Hey, isn't his attitude towards you getting worse day by day?" Chuuya asked Haru after Dazai was gone out of sight, "He...He wasn't like that to you before right?"

"...I..don't..know...But..that..person has every reason to treat me like that...This..is nothing compared to what that person gone through" Haru reassured Chuuya and herself, telling herself in her mind that this was okay.

"Anyway,..hurry up, Chuuya-niisan....Just like Dazai-san said,..it would be bad..for you to make Mori-ojiisan waiting" Haru tried to smile a little to tell Chuuya that she was okay.

"..Okay. I got it. And.." Chuuya patted Haru's head, "If I had free time after this mission is over, I will ask permission from the boss to take you to the crepe shop that you like so much" Chuuya promised Haru.

"..Tha..Thank you, Chuuya-niisan" Haru said, and Chuuya also felt that she cheered up a little. If he could, he would try to mend the relationship between the two but no matter how many times Chuuya asked Dazai or Haru, they wouldn't tell him anything.

"Sorry that this is the only thing I can do for you now. But one day, I will take you out to the outside of this city, Yokohama and go to wherever places you like" Chuuya promised Haru in his mind, not knowing that promise would ever come true.
