Chapter-10

Detective Agency
"Dazai-san must have been kidnapped!!!" Atsushi shouted to everyone who was present at the agency. "He is not picking up his phone and he did not come back to the dorm last night. I am sure that something happened to him."

While everybody was saying back to Atsushi how Dazai's survival instincts were of the top class and that no matter what suicidal attempts he did, he didn't die, there was one person sitting on the couch and looking at her phone. Dazai had not replied to her messages at all when normally he would in a few minutes and so. Haru was getting worried about him.

If he was kidnapped as Haru thought then he would be in that place only. Haru thought repeatedly in her mind whether to go or not while playing with her hands. She was sure Dazai would be okay but she couldn't help but getting worried. No...not that. She was definitely sure that he would be fine. It was just her chance of seeing that person again that she wanted to go. If she were to go there then she would risk getting caught herself and the Port Mafia would turn her into a hostage instead. After dealing the thoughts within her head of whether to go or not, she made a decision.

"I..will be..going out...for a little while" Haru suddenly said standing up to the four who were debating of Dazai's survival.

"Huh..Haru-san, where are you..."As Atsushi was about to ask where she was going, he was cut out by Ranpo. "Wait" he said. Everyone present in the room was surprised at the tone of Ranpo's voice except Haru. Haru turned around and looked at Ranpo in the eyes. The two of them were having some kind of conversation with their eyes that made the people sweatdropped at the tension between those two.

After a while, Ranpo let out a sigh like he was defeated at the battle. "Be careful" he said and then swung his chair around facing his back to Haru. "Thank you" Haru said and then went out of the door.

"Umm...Ranpo-san, what's wrong?" Atsushi asked. "Nothing. You just.." Ranpo now looked at Atsushi in the eyes, "need to be aware of the danger surrounding you." While everyone in the room was thinking about what Ranpo said, Ranpo was just thinking that it was not his fault. He did stop her but it was useless so it definitely was not his fault.

"So, Kyouka failed her mission. No matter how powerful it is, a pawn is just a pawn. What about you? Are you a pawn or a master or just a pawn waiting to be crushed?" Akutagawa asked to the man in chains who was once his boss, his mentor now merely reduced to a traitor of the organization.

The so called man, Dazai, just smirked at his remarks.

The only thought in Haru's mind now was that Dazai would be definitely angry at her. No....Angry would be an understatement. He would definitely be pissed. Looking at herself, she was unarmed. No weapons in her hands or anything. She was in a doubt whether to keep going and faced Dazai's wrath or turn back.Making up her mind, she formed her sword from her ability and gripped it tightly. She knew where Dazai would be, in the place where people who would be executed were kept.

Dazai was just singing his stupid double suicide song, ignoring Akutagawa. He only stopped when Akutagawa's ability chocked him. But, that was only for a second, only for Dazai to nullify his ability.

"Ah, you were here" Dazai remarked. "You know the destiny of those who are chained here. It is only a matter of time before the order for your execution arrives. You have committed a grave sin, aborted the mission you were given, disappeared out of sight, taking away the power of Port Mafia with you only to resurface again as an enemy of the organization. It is hard to think that these course of actions are from the former executive of the organization." said Akutagawa, thinking that even now it was still hard to believe, not even in his wildest dream he would ever thought that.

"And from your former superior?" Dazai added. At this, Akutagawa got pissed. He punched Dazai in the face which resulted in a few blood spilled but Dazai only just smirked. "It's not like you are invincible. If I don't use my ability then even I can hurt you. In other words, I can kill you whenever I want." Akutagawa narrowed his eyes to Dazai, reminding him that the person that he had always looked down on would be his demise.

To this, Dazai only responded with sarcasm. "You have really become big in the organization. I will only say it now but it was really a challenge to train you. You were a slow learner and you always move on your own and not to mention that useless ability of yours", Dazai said fully aware that this would irritate the hell out of Akutagawa. In response, Akutagawa clenched his fists harder and more irritated. It was really ironic to think that the man he once respected...no, he even respected him even now and just only want a few words from his own mouth would be dead by his own hands in a few days time.

"Your bravado will only last for a few days. In that time, we will annihilate the agency, seize the weretiger and take back the power that you took. Your execution will then follow. Look forward to learning of your organization and your subordinate's demise. And you will learn that once you have been tainted by the darkness and shadow, you can only live in it. There is no escape from there. You and Haru-san....no, Haru-san was just taken away by you. She herself don't wish for it" Akutagawa said hoping for a little reaction from Dazai by mentioning Haru.

"What do you know about us, huh?" Dazai asked with his bangs shadowing his eyes.

"Haru-san was always afraid of you. You have embedded that fear into her and in turn you used that fear against her to follow you" Akutagawa answered.

"Haha...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Dazai suddenly laughed out loudly. That made Akutagawa flinched. He was indeed expecting some kind of reaction but not this.

"You...really don't know anything" Dazai said after laughing, "And do you really think that you can annihilate the agency? My new subordinate is far more superior than you." And with that, Akutagawa was blinded with rage and again punched Dazai and then Dazai's world turned black.
