Chapter 16. 💏

"No." Angela gasps seeing Kayon.

"What's going on here." Ednil enters the room hearing his daughters voice.

"Will you now clear all the misunderstandings?" Kayon asks Angela controlling his anger.

"Let's tell them the whole truth, Angela," Drayton tells Angela who nods her head and begins, "the day I left from my home I found that I was... I was... I was pregnant with Za... Zayon's child. I was confused and scared that if Zay or mom comes to know about it they'll ask me to abort my child, so I came to London. After a few months when I was six months pregnant I saw Dray at a hospital. Till then I was living with Grace, she's a friend of mine whom I met at the airport in London and after Dray found out about my condition he asked me to move in with him and I did."

After a pause, she continued, "when Dayon was born Drayton gave his name to him and thus became his dad not by blood but by heart. Drey never told me the real reason as to why he came to London and broke all his ties with you all, until today. Today I heard Uncle Kay and Shell's conversation and came to know that she loves him and I planned this drama to help Dray express his feelings for Shell and he did, otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to do so."

"Wait so all this while you were acting?" Drayton asks.

"Yes, my love I was only acting. I purposefully started expressing my false love for you as I was sure Shell hears it while passing by your room but I never expected these men will also hear it." Angela replies.

"So Dayon is my grandson, he's a Pride, he's a Pride, my blood. I never expected this from you, Angel. You kept my grandson hidden from me for five whole years." Kayon angrily leaves the room banging the door loudly.

"Dad please make him understand, I already explained my reasons." Ednil then goes after Kayon.

"So you two love birds enjoy your reunion." Saying so, Angela leaves.

"How are you?" Drayton asks.

"That's what you got to ask me after five whole years?" Shelby asks angrily.

"I'm sorry but I knew it very well that your dad won't ever accept filth like me for his princess," Drayton says turning his back towards Shelby.

She goes near him and turns him around and says, "it's not the truth Dray. Dad thought it wasn't my love but my infatuation which will end after some time. He gave me everything that I demanded since my childhood and he thought that I have this habit of getting everything that I like and after getting you when my infatuation ends he thought that I'll dump you and you'll be left heartbroken. He didn't want you to suffer so he behaved rudely so that you'll stop falling for me. But believe me he didn't intend to insult you or your dad's condition, you misunderstood it. Dad tried to search you buy he failed. He was really sad after hearing the consequences of his rude behaviour but you weren't there when he came to ask for forgiveness. But the one who suffered the most is Zay. I don't remember a single day when his eyes weren't red and swollen from crying."

"He could have asked today," Drayton tells Shelby.

"Yes but you hurt his princess so maybe he postponed," Shelby replies and hugs him.

"So now what?" Kayon asks Ednil.

"Now my prince will have to try hard to gain my Angel's trust and you will have to put aside your ego and ask forgiveness to Drayton if you want Shell to live her life happily." Ednil replies.

"Yeah, I know," Kayon replies.

"We'll figure it out once Zayon gets well but do not inform Alice or else I'm dead," Ednil tells Kayon.

"I won't inform her till everything settles down," Kayon promises.

"Wait that means you plan my funeral after our children's reunion?" Ednil makes a sour face.

"You know me better than anyone else," Kayon smirks and leaves.

A few days later...

"Where's mom and dad?" Angela asks Drayton.

"They went to meet Uncle Kay." He replies.

"Where are you going?" She asks him.

"I'm also going there as Uncle Kayon invited me for dinner." He replies.

"So you finally forgave him." She asks.

"Yes. Ok bye, I'm getting late." Saying so he leaves.

"Everyone went away leaving me alone. How selfish! No one bothered to ask me." Muttering to herself Angela starts to climb the steps to go to the terrace and enjoy the night view with a cup of coffee.

When she goes there she's shocked to see the whole terrace beautifully decorated. In the middle there a heart-shaped chocolate-strawberry cake with SORRY written on it, placed on a table. She goes near it and places her mug on the table. Her mouth waters seeing the cake and then she feels a presence behind her.

Hugging her from behind Zayon says, "did you really think this low of me that I'll ask you to kill the gift of our love? Was I that heartless towards you? Was my love this weak that you never got a hint of it? You know before everything blacked out on the day of my accident, the last thing that came to my mind was the image of our son and my best friends and only your name came out of my mouth. When I was unconscious I was dreaming all the time. Do you know what I saw in my dream? I saw us, Dayon, you and me enjoying our life together as a family but when I opened my eyes I saw mom and reality hit me hard and I cursed my life. I thought my dream or my death is better than..." His words get muffled because of Angela's hand on his mouth.

"Do not ever say like this. I can't imagine living in a world without you." Angela has tears in her eyes.

"That's why you lived for five whole years without me, isn't it?" He raises his eyebrows.

"No, as you know I thought you'll ask me to abort and if you wouldn't then mom would have definitely made sure that my child gets aborted. You know how she dislikes you. The second reason is that I thought you liked girls like Riha and I'm not suitable for you and so you'll never accept me. I'm sorry Zay." Angela lowers her head.

Zayon lifts her head and says, "and here I was thinking that you love Drayton and I did a great mistake by taking your virginity and coming between you two. I'm sorry Angel, only if we both have confronted each other then our life would have been different. I wouldn't have lived in guilt away from you both all these years."

"I too wouldn't have cried all those nights missing you." Angela cries keeping her head on his chest, while he soothes her.

"Now everything is clear and aunt Alicia too forgave me and gave me permission to marry you and next weak is our marriage." Zayon gives her the good news.

"O My God! O My God! O My God! I can't believe it, Zay." Angela places small kisses all over his face while Zayon thanks his future father-in-law for giving him various's suggestions in this whole weak as finally, he got successful in gaining Angela's forgiveness. They then enjoy their cake along with sweet kisses.
