Harley pov

Harley was done. Joker had hit her, pushed her out of a second story window, threw her out in the cold with the dogs .

Bats was right, he didn't love her, didn't care about her, she was leaving.

She wasn't coming back this time, wouldn't fall for it again, she would get out of this twisted loop

"And this time, Harley is free"
She lifted the detonator in her hand her finger on the trigger as she looks at jokers hide out

She could even see some of the bombs she had placed
"Bye bye mr. j"

She pulls the trigger and the building exploded followed by the explosions from all of jokers toys

She smiles while crying at the same time

At least she had bud and Lou with her, the hyenas sounded like they were laughing as the old building fell

"Come on babies.....we're going somewhere else, somewhere better "

She had a suitcase with her clothes, bat and gun, her hammer was over her shoulder

First she needed some place to stay, thankfully joker had a lot of money, a large sum of it was hers

"Could probably but a room with wane white this much cash......and dumb rich boy probably couldn't fight her to kick me out "

She sighs at her lame joke
"Have a better chance rooming with bats"

She walked around in the city as people freaked out

"what's their problem?"

She walked until she saw a flyer
"Hmm"

It read
"Gotham city apartments, rooms vacant, interviews at 5:30, rent 300$ a month "

She checked her watch
"I can make it"
She walked to the surprisingly nice looking building

"It's my lucky day "

It was 5:20 when she walked in and sat in the waiting room

Their was a woman with a baby and an old man who both started to Freak out when she sat down

The woman went to leave but Harley stopped her

"Hey, where are you going?"

The woman froze
"Sit down, your here for the apartment right?"

The woman fearfully sat and nods

"Cool! Me to!"
Harley looks at the baby and smiles
"Aw look at that little cutie "

The woman held it to her and yelps as Harley scooted closer setting down her hammer, bud and Lou lay on the floor yawning

She looks at the baby's little face
"Aww can I hold em?"

The woman shakes her head scared, this annoyed Harley

"Why not!?"

The woman holds it close to her
"I'm not gonna do anything!"

She holds her hands out for it
The woman slowly handed it over fearful

Harley held it for a second and smiles
"Aw, I wish I had one"
She handed it back before sitting again and waiting for her turn at the interview

Both the woman and the man had theirs then Harley walked in with her hammer and babies bud and Lou

The interviewer looks up
"What ever you want take it, just don't hurt me"

"What I want is an interview for an apartment, this looks like BBC a nice building "

The interviewer gulps
"O-ok ma'am "
She sits putting her hammer over her shoulder

"S-so question 1.....do you have any pets?"

"Yeah, 2 babies "
Bud and Lou barked
"Their hyenas"

"G-great, question 2.....do you have any criminal records?"

"Yes!"

"Wonderful.....question 3, do you carry any weapons, drugs or alcohol with you?

"Yes, no, no"

"Well that's better than nothing....do you plan to throw parties or social gatherings that may cause disruption?"

"Eh, not much.....maybe a few friends"

"Well...that's...actually good, next question....are you able to pay rent on time...

"Oh yeah, money isn't a problem.....but can you like set a reminder for when to pay because I'm so forgetful "

"Oh ok"

"Alright how did I do?"

"It's yours"

"YES!"

She ran to the interviewer and hug the interviewer and took the key

And ran up to her room

Y/n POV

Y/n sighs and looks around at the city that didn't care

His mom and dad had been murdered in front of him......they had never had much money but they always tried to stay happy, they laughed whenever they could

But they couldn't laugh anymore, nobody had cared, Batman hadn't saved the day, they hadn't mattered enough

He held the necklace his mom had given him in his hands, it was a gold pendent with a small dragon made of jade, it was all he had of them

He looks up from his place in the ally at a person with a gun
"Hands up you little shit"

Y/n jumped and put their hands up
"Give me the necklace "

Y/n put his hand over it shaking his head, his six year old mind wouldn't let him let go of his las remaining piece of his family

"Give it to me now, I will kill you"

Y/n started to cry until they both heard a thump of something hitting the ground
