Fate?

1. Cross Academy

"However fate has lead you to my school, I am the head master, My name is Kaien Cross. Welcome to Cross Academy Miss Hirose."

The rain hitting the huge window catches my attention as I gaze back to the dark grounds of the Academy.

"How is my parents and little sister being killed by a Vampire fate?" I speak out in a monotone voice. "Fate and destiny are to be a pair...how is this my destiny?"

"Life might look bleak right now...but trust me good will come in the end." The head master places his hand on my shoulder. "Dear me! You are ice cold! come...lets get you into a hot bath and a fresh dry pair of clothes."

"Where is Mr Yagari?" He saved my life...I owe him so much.

"He left to....well go hunting."

I start shivering as I hug my arms around my body once again to try and get warm. My long pink hair still stuck against my body I silently follow after Headmaster Cross.

"While you are staying here we must go over some rules." He glances to me as I nod my head in silence. "First our number one rule. Do not tell anyone what happened to you or your family tonight. As you are well aware the world does not know Vampires exist. Only myself and two others know the truth about Vampires here. You will meet them tomorrow."

"I understand..." I whisper. I am so consumed in my thoughts I pay no attention to where we are walking. Every time I close my eyes the image of my families bloody bodies flashes before me.

"Good...and second you will join our schooling here as part of the day classes." I nod my head. "First I will give you some time to adjust here before placing you in classes, and in the dorms. So until then you will stay here in the Head Masters house with me. Until you are ready to take the step of joining the other students."

"Ok..." I quietly speak up. "How much further?" I ask as my teeth start chattering from the cold.

"Almost there Miss Hirose."

"Please just call me Samantha." I hug myself even tighter but it is no use. My body has turned numb and it is hard to even feel my fingers.

Following after the head master I walk around the corner when I collide right into someone.

"Ahh!" I cry out as I fall backwards onto the hard cold floor.

"My dear are you alright!" Head master Cross asks me in a worried voice. "Zero...what are you doing here? You should be patrolling with Yuki."

The feeling of hot warmth burns against my ice cold numb skin. Opening my eyes slowly I find myself staring right into a pair of beautiful lavender eyes.

The person on top of me pushes himself up. His silver hair flows around his face. I notice on the left side of his neck he has a tattoo, but I don't know what it stands for. His hair and clothes are wet showing he was just outside. However his eyes can't seem to leave mine almost as if he is in a trance. His eyes then slowly make their way down from my face towards my neck.

"Zero..." Headmaster Cross coughs out. "would you mind getting off of Miss Hirose now...."

The guys lavender eyes grow wide as he meets my gaze again. "Sorry..." He pushes himself off of me taking the heat of his skin with him. I instantly start to shiver again. "Your so cold..." He offers me his hand and he helps me to stand up.

"Thanks..." I whisper as I hug myself again.

"Come dear...you must get warmed up before you get sick." The headmaster wraps his arm around my shoulder and leads me off down the hallway. Just before we turn the corner I glance back and see the guy still staring at me. For an instant I thought his eyes flashed red. I turn away knowing my nightmares are taking over my mind.

The hot water burns my ice cold skin as I slowly climb into the steaming bath. With my freezing shivering body fully emerged in the scorching water I close my eyes as I lean my back against the porcelain bathtub.

"Who do we have here?" a quiet voice whispers out from the darkness. "You smell sweet my darling...you smell like dessert." A figure jumps out at me with red glowing eyes.

My eyes fly open and I sit hugging my once again shivering body. Trying to gain control of my breathing I try to block the images out of my mind.

Tears fall from my eyes when a knocking sounds at the bathroom door.

"Miss Hirose are you alright in there?" Headmaster Cross's voice breaks into my thoughts.

"I....I'm fine!" I call out through the door as I hug my ice cold naked body.

"Alright...I will be back in a bit to lead you to your room." I listen as his footsteps fade away.

Taking another deep breath I pull my shivering body out of the hot scorching water. I dress in the dry clothes the headmaster gave to me and brush out my long pink hair as I gaze in the mirror. My eyes seem to lose focus and for a moment I thought I saw a shadow rush past the window.

Screaming I spin around to see nothing there. "Miss Hirose?" a loud knocking on the door pulls my eyes from the window. I open the door to see the headmaster there looking worried. "What happened!" He asks.

"I....I thought I saw...." My voice trails as my body shakes. "Window..." I point a shaking hand towards the window and the Headmaster rushes over to it.

"Miss Hirose. There is nothing out there...just the storm." But I see an uneasy look cross his eyes. "Are you warmed up?"

"Yes...." I whisper as I hug my shaking body.

"Let me show you to your temporary room for now.." I nod my head and follow after him in silence.

Once the Headmaster leaves me alone in my room I rush to the window and make sure it is locked. I look out in fear into the storm filled night. Thinking I saw another shadowy figure move I pull the blinds shut and jump into the bed and hide under the blankets.

"Mom...Dad...Anne........" Tears fill my eyes. "Why did I have to loose you all....." My mind goes back to what both the Headmaster and Mr. Yagari said....

"Fate.....How is this fate..." I whisper before falling into deep sleep filled with nothing but nightmares.
