14. Fate?

"Samantha...." He leans down closer to me "I need to hear you say it...please tell me I am not the only one with these feelings...."

I fall silent as I gaze up at Zero as my heart races in my chest. He pushes himself up and is about to crawl off of me when I find my voice.

"You're not...." I whisper out as I see the shocked look cross his face. "Zero...I"

My voice gets cut off as he leans down and takes my lips in a kiss. He pulls away and gazes into my eyes. How I love looking into his lavender ones, they are so beautiful.

"Samantha......I love you." My heart leaps in my chest hearing him whisper those words to me. "That is why I am afraid to be with you...If I end up hurting you or worse...I could never live with myself."

"How many times do I have to tell you I trust you..."

"But I don't trust myself..." He speaks quietly as he sits up. "This monster in me won't stop pushing for control. Eventually it will take over me. And when that day comes you must not be near me..."

"That day won't come......" I speak softly as I take his hand in mine. "I refuse to leave you Zero..."

"Why though..."

"I am afraid to lose you....I have lost to much in my life already...." I sit up in front of him

"Samantha...."

I move to my knees and take his face in my hands. "Zero...I have been attracted to you since I first came here..." I take a deep breath. "Mr Yagari, Headmaster Cross....they both say losing my family is all apart of fates plan.....If that is true...." His lavender eyes look at me unsure. "Then meeting you Zero Kiryu, then this as well has to be fate...."

"Fate?" He whispers. He sighs, "More like a living nightmare."

"I lived my worst nightmare...I can never run from that....When I look at you...I don't see a monster." I pull him in and place my lips against his. I pull away and his eyes are closed.

Slowly he opens them and we gaze into each others eyes. "Samantha....."

I gasp out as he pushes my body backwards so I am once again laying on my back. I gaze up at Zero as he moves his body to hover above me. "Zero?"

"If you want me to stop....then tell me..."

Before I can say anything he takes my breath away in a heated kiss. This one kiss shows me all his desire and hunger he holds for me.

I nervously ask the question on my mind once his lips leave mine. "Are you just attracted to my blood?"

He pulls away and traces his fingers along my cheek. "Your so beautiful...." I feel my cheeks heat up. "The night you arrived your scent drove me mad with lust and hunger. When I saw you looking out the Headmasters window....when your eyes met mine..."

"That was you?" I whisper out remembering the red eyes I saw.

"I still think your scent is intoxicating....and your beauty..." He runs his fingers through my pink hair. "Your perfect. Everything about you is perfection." His eyes cloud over with worry. "But this scares me. Because I am not the only one who has been taken with you."

"Kaname..." I whisper.

"Kuran will never stop until you are his..." Zero holds himself above me. "Yagari should have never brought you here...."

"Then I would have never met you Zero....Kaname will learn I have chosen you."

"Samantha...you still don't get it....you and me...nothing can come from this...Kuran knows this all to well."

"Please don't say that..."

"Samantha...in the end no matter what you do now. I will die. Once I become a level E there will be no stopping me except by a bullet in me. I would prefer to die now before that happens. While I am still myself...."

"I will find a way Zero....the Pure Blood who..."

He cuts me off by kissing me. "Samantha...." I gaze into his eyes. "If not ending my life now, if that means I get to spend my last of it with you..." His finger traces my lips. "Then I will be happy."

"Zero what are you saying?"

"Be mine Samantha...Allow me to be with you. To be able to hold you close. Kiss you. Love you."

"Then that also means you will accept my help in keeping your hunger under control."

His face goes blank for a moment. "Yes...." He takes a deep breath. "I promise to do my best to not take to much as to harm you...."

"Zero...."

"Just say yes Samantha....be mine and only mine. I will help you face your nightmares." He leans in close. "You said meeting me was Fate...then we are destined to be together..."

"I want that more then anything..."

His lips capture mine once again. "I will protect you the best I can." He kisses me again. "No one.....not even Kuran will ever lay a hand on you."

"Zero...."

"Samantha....be mine and only mine."
