24. The Vile

*Zero's POV*

I'm not stupid....I know Kuran knows about our nightly routines. I know every night he takes Samantha to the room with the piano. I can hear him play from outside.

Just like all the other nights I climb up the tree to see her beautiful face. I'm not stupid, neither is Kuran. He knows me and Samantha gaze at one another while he plays the damned piano. This is like a curse....to see her every night but never able to touch her.

Sitting in the tree with my back leaning against the tree I listen to him begin to play the piano. Moments later I watch as Samantha appears in the window as she sits on the sill. Our eyes lock together.

I watch as she rests her hand against the glass as she mouths out my name 'Zero'.

"Samantha..." I whisper into the darkness. "I love you..."

It has been two weeks now since the night we made love. Two weeks since I last was able to hold her in my arms. I watch her place her hands on her stomach. 'I love you too'. I watch her lips speak to me silently.

My heart races. I need to hold her....I need her.....I used to think I was in love with Yuki....but my feelings for Samantha are so much stronger. I have never met anyone before who makes me want to live....even if its a life as a monster. If I got to hold her in my arms each night, I could care less. I would gladly turn into the monster I despise most if I got to live a life with her.

I stare up at her with longing in my eyes. "Samantha.....come to me..." I beg of her.

'I can't...' I ready her silent words. 'He will never allow it....'

"Then I will come to you....tonight...." She shakes her head no. "I need to hear your voice. I need to touch you...hold you.....kiss you......."

'Me too..'

"Tonight then..." I whisper. I watch her glance over his shoulder as I hear the piano music play.

'I have to go....'

"Samantha tonight...I will come to you....Wait for me...."

I watch her nod her head as she turns away and walks away from me, and back to him.

"Kuran....I will kill you if you harm her and my child...." I mutter darkly as I jump down from the tree.

My mind races as I think how I will see her. Yes Kaname leaves her to go to Night class. If he never showed up it would cause suspicion. That is when I have to make my move.

Helping Yuki I push the Day class away from the moon dorm as the Night class makes it's way to the school. And just like each day Kuran walks past me giving me a smug look. My hand itches for my gun as I sigh out looking down, knowing this makes him think he has won.

Waiting until all the Day class are once again in the Sun dorm I rush out to 'Patrol'. Yuki takes around the school as I take the moon dorm. Then making my move I sneak inside and enter the building.

Making my way up the stairs I hear sounds of someone moving things around. I pull out my gun just in case finding myself outside of Kuran's dorm room. Placing my hand on the door handle I open the door to. Inside there is Samantha pulling everything out of the closet. Shutting the door quietly it makes a clicking sound as she jumps in fright.

"Kaname I was....." When she looks to me her eyes open wide. "Zero!"

"Samantha...." We run to one another as I wrap my arms around her waist. I feel her arms go around my neck as I lean down instantly kissing her.

"You came....." She whispers the moment our kiss ends.

"I had to see you....I had to make sure you were safe.....that our child is safe...."

Tears form in her eyes as she nods her head. "He hasn't harmed me....Zero....I don't want him touching our baby...."

Holding her tightly to me I look around the room that is a mess. "Samantha what are you doing?"

"I'm look for a way to save you Zero..."

I sigh as I shake my head. "There is no way..."

"Kaname has a vile of blood of the Vampire who bit you..."

My lavender eyes open wide. "What?"

"I'm trying to find it....then you can drink it....you won't need him to stay alive...."

"I would become a monster...one of them if I were to drink that.....I'm better off dead."

"But Zero....if you drank it, Kaname loses a hold over me....we could be together....."

I place one hand to her stomach. "We could be a family....." As much as I hate what I am becoming....I would chose that life if it meant I got to be with the girl I love.

"I just can't find it.....I have been looking each and every night...I imagine it would be in here.....somewhere other's wouldn't find it....."

"You would be right with that...." I hold onto Samantha as I glance around the room. My eyes land on the bed as if I'm drawn to it. "Stay here...."

Moving to his bed I push it to the side as I look to the wood floor beneath it. Touching each wood I find one that is loosened and raise it up.

"Zero?"

I pull out a box as I exhale a shaking breath. Opening the box is a crystal vile filled of deep red liquid. "This is her blood......I can sense it...."

I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I see Samantha smiling.

"Let's get out of here....." I stand up pocketing the vile as I grab her hand and pull her from the room. My heart races at the thought of us having a life together....I can live...I will be a vampire...but I can live.....I can live with Samantha.

We rush down the stairs only to freeze seeing Kuran standing at the base of them. "Kiryu...you shouldn't have tried to steal her from me....."

I feel Samantha cling to me as I hold her tightly to me. "You will never touch her ever again Kuran...."

"Is that so?" He laughs then in a blink of an eye I shake my head in confusion.

"Zero!" I see Samantha in his grasp as he holds her back to his chest.

"Let her go....." I go to grab my gun when he shakes his head.

"Make one move Kiryu.....and I will change the girl you love into the monster you hate the most....."

"You wouldn't...." I reach for my gun as I watch in fear as Kaname suddenly sinks his fangs into Samantha's neck. "NO!"

"AHH!" Samantha's loud cry echos around us as I can't stop what is happening.

...
