15. Be Mine

"Samantha!" I spin around on my way to class when my name gets called out. I see Mia and Trish running over to me.

"Hey." I smile at them.

"So how did you do it?" Trish squeals.

"Do what?" I ask confused.

"Oh don't be like that..." Trish grins at me.

"How did you win the heart of Zero Kiryu!" Mia grasps my hand and looks at me.

"He is so cruel to everyone...but you won him over!"

"Oh....well I...."

The two girls then start to squeal even more. "Speak of the devil...."

"What?" I turn my gaze to where they are looking. My heart starts to pound as I see Zero leaning up against a wall. His silver hair falls across his face as his lavender eyes meet mine instantly.

"Guess we will talk to you after class...bye Sam!" They giggle as they walk off whispering to one another.

Shyly I walk over towards Zero. "Morning..." I speak softly as my gaze falls to the ground.

I feel his warm hand take my chin and raise my face up. My eyes grow wide as he bends down and kisses me softly. "Morning...." He whispers in reply.

My cheeks burn red as he gently takes my hand in his and starts to pull me towards our class. He freezes and sighs as I notice everyone is staring at us.

"GET TO CLASS!" Zero suddenly yells out in frustration. I giggle slightly as I watch the other students run away in fear. "So annoying...." He sighs as he starts to lead me away again.

This is how the next week went by. Nothing outstanding really happened. I would meet Zero before class and he would walk with me holding my hand tightly in his.

However this morning was a little different then the others.

I make my way over to Zero when he suddenly grabs my arm tightly.

"Zero?" He pulls me into his embrace not saying a word. He leans down placing his face against my neck. "Zero........"

"God you smell amazing....." He whispers as he inhales a deep breath. I feel his body tense up and he tightly grips mine. His tongue gliding along my neck makes me push him back.

"ZERO!" I gasp out as his eyes show the hunger he craves.

Students around us start to whisper as they quickly pass us by.

"I need you...." Zero goes to pull me in again when I take a step back.

"Not here Zero......" I whisper in fear as I know what he is after.

"Your afraid......" He grins. "It makes you more mouthwatering...."

"Zero....You went to long without feeding....your not talking like yourself."

He stumbles backwards and the hunger in his eyes disappear. "Samantha......I......" I see the fear in his own eyes. He grips his hands in his hair. "I tried to hold back....but....."

I reach out and gently pull one of his hands from his hair and grip in in mine. "Come....." I lead him away and we end up in the horse stables.

By now Zero's entire body is shaking as he takes deep breathes. "I don't want to.......I can't do that to you again..."

"Zero....I am the one who said it was alright." I unzip my sweater and let it fall to the ground. I look to Zero to see him silently watching me. "You need to feed....." I speak in a whisper as I pull my long pink hair off my left shoulder and exposing my neck to him.

In the next moment I find my back being slammed up against the wall. Zero's lavender eyes shine bright red as his fangs appear. "Just a small taste....only a little..." He whispers as he softly kisses my neck.

"Ahh!" I gasp as I feel his fangs sink into my skin. The sound of him drinking my blood brings the memories of my families bodies to my mind. "Zero please....." I beg of him to stop.

He pulls away and wipes his lips clean. "Forgive me...." He speaks softly. "Did I hurt you..."

"I'm fine...." I whisper as I try to force the image from my mind.

"How can you want to be with me after all this...."

"I told you Zero. Us meeting...its Fate..."

...

I wish I could say that was the only time this happened. But sadly it wasn't. As more and more days pass the monster inside Zero forces its way to the surface. I am afraid one day I won't be there to stop him and he will attack another student.

Sitting on my bed I jump when a knock sounds on my door. Zero is out patrolling with Yuki so maybe it is the Headmaster?

Opening the door I freeze in fright.

"He is loosing control faster now more and more each day isn't he...."

"Kaname....what are you doing here...."

He walks passed me and into my room. "Zero Kiryu is slipping into Level E..."

"No....he is fine..."

"How many times has he fed off you Samantha?" My body stiffens as his crimson eyes lock with mine.

"He...."

"Admit it...He is loosing control..."

"Kaname...please. There has to be a way to save him..."

"I told you what he needs to do to survive."

"Zero said no one has seen of the Pure Blood for the past 4 years." I speak quietly.

"Exactly why Zero's life needs to end now....." I back up as Kaname walks towards me. Suddenly my back hits the wall and I stare at him. "So Beautiful........" His fingers trace my cheek. "I came here tonight to make you an offer..."

"An offer?"

"Yes...its simple really." I watch as he pulls a red rose out from his coat and holds it out to me. "You Samantha Hirose will become my lover."

"I am with Zero...."

"We all know that won't last much longer......" A smile spreads across his lips. "You wish him not to die is that right?"

"Yes...."

"What would you do if I told you there is a way to slow down the transition to level E."

"I would do anything!"

"Anything?" He leans in closer to me.

"Yes..." I whisper nervously.

"I may not be the one who bit Kiryu those 4 years ago. But never the less I am still a Pure Blood."

My eyes grow wide. "Your blood..."

"My blood is not a cure for him. But yes...it will slow down the attacks."

"Kaname please save him!" I beg to the vampire before me.

I watch in fear as his eyes light up. His hand cups my face and he leans down and kisses my lips. "If you wish to save him...then become my lover." He whispers into my ear.

"I......"

"Without my blood....Zero's life will end very soon."

"No..." Tears fall from my eyes. "He needs your blood Kaname...but I can't give you what you want."

"Then he dies........" He walks across my room to the door and places his hand on the handle. "I will leave the decision yours to make Samantha. If you wish him to survive longer then he needs my blood. But if Zero Kiryu ever drinks my blood. Then you have to promise yourself to me, and become my lover." Then as quickly as he came Kaname leaves me alone as the tears fall down my face.
