10. I'm A Monster

Zero's PoV

Bliss....no not bliss. This is Ecstasy....Drinking Samantha's blood is pure ecstasy to me. I feel her struggling trying to escape my grasp. Her fear only makes me want her even more then I did. She is so mouthwatering....

I slowly remove my fangs from her hand and gaze at her lustfully. "Your so perfect..." I whisper while pulling her in tighter to my body. "But I need more...."

"Please Zero....I'm afraid....." She whispers as I move the hair away from her neck. Hearing her scared shaky voice makes me grow mad with hunger.

Placing my lips to her delicate soft neck my tongue glides across her skin. "I need you so badly..." I whisper as I slowly pierce her skin with my fangs.

"AHH!" She screams out in pain. "Zero!! PLEASE STOP!" Her panicked voice only makes me want to drink even more of her delicious blood.

I reposition her in my arms to get a better angle at her neck for more of a blood flow.

"Zero.....Please...." But she is so weak that her voice can hardly be heard.

I feel my senses return to me and I feel sick as I realize what I am doing.

Removing my fangs Samantha's body collapses into my arms "NO! What have I done!" I stare at the girl in my arms and fear floods through my veins. I pick her up gently in my arms and hold her tightly to me. "Samantha wake up! PLEASE WAKE UP!" Her eyes open slowly and she meets my scared gaze. "I am so sorry...I didn't mean to...." Her eyes start to close once again.

"SAMANTHA!" Her eyes flutter open once again "STAY AWAKE!" I cry out to her as I start running towards the Headmasters House in fear. I feel her body go limp in my arms and I see she has passed out.

"Samantha....please hold on...." I run as fast as I can and I freeze when I see Headmaster Cross waiting for me.

"I heard screaming...what happened...." His eyes travel from me to the unconscious girl covered in blood in my arms. "Zero...what did you do."

"I didn't mean to...I found her bleeding and lost complete control...."

"Take her to your room and watch over her for the night...." He sighs as he places a hand on the back of his neck. "The Night Class must be going crazy smelling her blood...."

"She knows....about them..."

"How?"

"I...don't know...she just does...." I whisper as I carry her fragile body through the house and to my bedroom. Gently placing her on my bed I see the blood on her hand and her neck.

The sight makes me sick realizing I was the cause of it all.

Walking to my sink I get a some warm water and a cloth and walk back to her. Sitting on the bed beside her I start with her hand wiping the blood clean and placing a bandage over her cut and my bite marks. Moving to her neck I gently move her hair from her face.

"Forgive me Samantha....I tried so hard to keep the monster from coming out. But in the end you were stronger then me...." When she is cleaned and a bandage on her neck I walk to the sink and I look at my reflection. My lips and chin are stained with her red blood. "What have I become...." I whisper as I wash up and collapse on the floor. Tears fall from my eyes as I look to my bed to see the beautiful angel laying there.

"That is what she is...." I whisper to myself. "Samantha to me you are an angel....and I almost killed you..." Shame fills my heart as I sit on the floor my eyes glued on the girl who I know I have fallen for.

I know the feelings I hold in my heart for Samantha Hirose are far stronger then the feelings I thought I had for Yuki. Realizing this only makes the pain worsen.

"Not only am I a monster...but I almost killed the girl I have fallen for...." I whisper. "She will never want to speak to me ever again..." My head rests in my hands as my fingers run through my silver hair. "I don't deserve to live after what I did to her..." My eyes land on my vampire hunter gun the Bloody Rose. Then my gaze travels back to the girl of my dreams and I watch her all night from across my room.

Sitting on the floor on the other side of the room my gaze does not leave Samantha's body. I have never been more repulsed or disgusted with myself before. A knock on my door makes my shaking body stand up and I open it quietly.

"How is she?" Headmaster Cross walks in to look at her.

"She should be in a hospital..." I whisper. "I fear I drank to much...." I clutch my head in my hands as I feel a hand on my back.

"Zero...this was bound to happen eventually." I look at him in shock. "The desire to feed was getting to much for you...If the blood tablets do not work there was only one option for you." I follow his gaze to Samantha. "If you did not feed on Miss. Hirose, I know it would have been another..." Yuki....I would have fed on Yuki... The thought crosses my mind.

"What if she doesn't wake?" I whisper.

"She will....She is only weak right now. It may be a day or two before she wakes up. I want you to stay with her until she does..." I silently nod my head as I watch him leave. Then I return to my place on the floor as far away from her as I can be in my tiny room.

Two days have passed and I have not left my bedroom once. I watch over Samantha as instructed. Slowly the colour starts to reappear on her pale face. Since I drank her blood being near her isn't torturing me as it did. I know it is because I satisfied my hunger and desire for her. But even I know I will only stay satisfied for so long until I crave more.

That night as I drift off to sleep leaning against the wall on the floor my eyes fly open. I turn towards the bed as I hear soft noises. I stand up slowly as I see Samantha tossing and turning in her sleep. I go to take a step forward when she cries out in her sleep.

"No! Mom...dad....Anne!" I know she is reliving her nightmare....I take another step towards here when her next words make me freeze. "Zero....Please stop....Zero!" She bolts up in the bed as I take a step away from her. Her breathing is ragged as her body shakes. Tears fall from her eyes as she sees the bandage on her hand. Then very slowly she raises her hand to her neck as she to feels another bandage.

Unsure if she felt my gaze but she looks up and her eyes grow wide when she sees me standing there. I See the fear in her pink eyes as she scrambles as far back on the bed that she can.

"Zero......." Her voice is shakey. "Your a..."

"Monster.....I know..." I turn to leave the bedroom as she cries out in fear.

"Please....don't leave me alone." I glance back at her in shock. "Please Zero....I am afraid to be alone." I stand there staring at her. "Please stay with me...."

I feel ashamed even more now. I now know just how troubled she is from what happened to her family. A Vampire brutally murdered them. But here she is begging a vampire to stay with her so she will not suffer alone.

Silently I walk over and sit on the bed. She holds her shaking hand out to me and I take it in mine. I feel how ice cold and afraid she is. She pulls on my hand until I lay on the bed next to her. With tears falling from her beautiful pink eyes she lays her head on my chest and grasps my shirt. I wrap my arms around her fragile body in order to show her I am here for her. That I will protect her.
