"Fiona please calm down" Lillian soothed. "We don't know that he's walked into a trap or not" Fiona obviously wasn't listening as she was still pacing around the throne room.

"She's been at this for 3 hours your majesty.." Reggie whispered. Harold shook his head and whispered back, "there's nothing we can do, she won't listen to us"

Donkey laughed from his cage "yeah I'd be pacing too princess prissy! Fairy godmother has the best trap set up! Hope he's fire proof!"

Fiona turned to donkey with the look of fear, Harold pick up a broom stick and hit donkeys cage "shut it mule! There's no trap, he's going to be fine"

Donkey laughed and mumbled loud enough for them to hear "you keep telling yourself that." Fiona turned to her mother "please let me go please! I need to know he's ok mother please!"

Lillian shook her head "I'm sorry dear but I don't want you running off into danger. Reggie send a scroll." Fiona tensed. "You can send fifty scrolls by then and nothing could happen!"

She turned to desperately to her father "please dad, let me go.." Harold turned to Lillian who shook her head. Harold sighed.

Fiona frowned "you can't keep me locked in the castle for the rest of my life! Haven't you let me suffer locked away long enough!?" Lillian started to walk towards her.

"Come now dear-" "NO!" Lillian stopped with a halt. "My whole life you kept me locked in a castle for my "safety" it's time to let me grow up and let me go."

Harold walked you beside Lillian and put his hand on her shoulder "she's right Lillian, if she is to rule this kingdom when it's our time."

Harold looked at Fiona sadly. "Reggie, get butters saddle ready." Fiona's eyes lit up. "Do you mean it dad?" Harold sighed. "Yes, but please do be careful."

Fiona hugged her father and ran out towards the stables. "Butters! Butters!" Butters lifted her head after and ran over towards her nuzzling her face.

"Come on, we've got a long ride ahead of us, thank you Reggie!" She looked at her parents who came to join her. "Please travel safely Fiona.."

Fiona nodded. "I will, thank you for letting me do this" pulling the reins she and butters took off. "Are you sure about this Harold?" Lillian asked in a raspy voice. Harold sighed "she would of took off even if we did keep her in the castle.."

Lillian watched Fiona disappear "I just don't want to loose another child.." Harold hugged her "we won't, she knows what she's doing. We've just got to trust she'll be safe."

Fiona and butters made good time by the time they got close. "Almost there butters, the tracks are starting to fade up ahead." Slowing down she and butter walked through the forest.

"It's so eerily quiet here" she whispered to butters. Butters grunted, ears pricked. Fiona looked at her confused then looked up at the sky "that's strange? There's not meant to be any fires burning through the forest yet?"

As they got closer Fiona could just faintly hear voices and crackling, pulling on the reins they started to move quicker towards it.

"There butters there!" She pointed to a cottage that was erupted in flames, she looked up in time to see the dragon who imprisoned her for all those years. Take off into the sky.

As they got closer to the cottage she could hear coughing coming from inside, dismounting butters she looked up at her "wait here butters" the horse pinned her ears back and neighed. As to say don't you dare go inside there!

Fiona ran her hand through butters maroon mane "I'll be back" she turned and pushed her way into the cottage. As soon as she made it in the heat dragged her down, everywhere it felt as her skin was melting off. Where are you? Where are you?

She pulled her cloak further over her body, she froze when she saw charming passed out in the middle of the fire. "Charming!" She screamed before running over towards him.

She crouched down beside him shaking him frantically. "charming? Charming! It's Fiona can you hear me?! Charming!" She shook her head no use!

Charming started to come too and groaned "charming?" Fiona shook him again "get up so I can help you!" Charming tried to get up but collapsed again.

Fiona hissed under her breath and struggled to pull him up to rest on her shoulder. "Come on charming help me out of here!" Stumbling as she got closer towards the firey door, she struggled to try and not breath in the smoke.

As she got closer the roof gave way blocking the exit, fire getting harsher. Groaning with charming's weight she staggered backwards, looking for a way to escape.

She turned her head and saw an exit by the window, the fire wasn't bad there yet. "Come on charming!" She struggled. "I'm not letting you do this to me after you rescued me!"

When she got close enough she got all her strength together and threw him out the window, butters gave a startled whinny and ran towards him. Fiona sighed feeling her heart fill with pride for her horse.

She was just about to jump out the window when something shiny caught her eye. Confused she pick up a golden pendant from the rubble that was surrounding it and jump out in time to see charming sitting up in front of butters coughing.

"Butters what are you doing here!?" Fiona felt her lungs relax as she gulped in the fresh air and gave a soft cough. "She's with me."

Charming turned around in confusion, Fiona gave a rusty giggle as she saw the surprised look in charming's eyes. "Fiona? What are you doing here?!"

Fiona gave a half sob half happy laugh and plunged down in front of him hugging him tightly. "I came to rescue you, you stupid Moran!"

She shoved her head into his chest and let her tears fall freely. "I was so scared! I was so frighted I'd loose you!" Charming wrapped his arms tightly around her.

"You'll never ever loose me Fiona I promise you that!" He pulled away and looked down at her soot stained face, wiping away the tears that smudged her face.

"You saved my life." He spoke softly looking into her eyes. Fiona pulled away and looked at him, "you saved me too remember."

Charming pulled her closer and for the very first time, they shared their first kiss. Outside the place where charming almost lost his life, the place where Fiona risked everything to save the love of her life.

And for that, they would always know. Deep in their hearts, they both saved each other. Not only from sudden doom or the end of their life. But they both saved each other for love. The love they shared for each other.
