The next day was raining and gloomy, most of the fires that dragon had started had only a faint glow. Everywhere around them was hazy and Smokey.
"I...I can't believe the spell didn't bring him back to life.." Harold wheezed looking down at the non moving Donkey. Fiona looked to her father. "Seemed like yesterday this little ass was stealing my waffles.." he said sadly.
Fiona hung her head "even though Donkey is gone," she began. "We need to remember the good things about him.." Charming nodded. "He deserves a wonderful funeral.." Lillian thought aloud.
Fiona nodded and looked around "we could burry him underneath that tree over there that looks like a waffle?" Harold chuckled. "He would of loved that tree" he remarked.
After a few hours later Charming and Harold dug a hole under the waffle tree, moving aside some of the free falling soot the dusted their hands on their clothes. Slowly, Fiona and Lillian pick up Donkey and walked him over to the hole.
Gently lowering him down as if he were sleeping they all stood beside the hole, the rain on spat softly on their sad soot stained faces. "Even though Donkey is gone and saved us from Fairy Godmother," Lillian began.
"He will always remain a hero in our hearts, when the time comes we shall share his story with the world." Fiona bent down and dropped a corn flower down on donkey's body. Harold sighed and looked at the burnt waffle in his hand before dropping it on donkey's body.
Charming hung his head as Fiona put a hand on his back, Butters walked over and dropped her favourite brush down the hole. "We'll
Miss you Donkey.." Fiona sobbed."Let us hope we cross paths again one day" Charming murmured before shovelling dirt back over the hole. "I guess we should bring Far Far Away back to its former glory.." Fiona spoke softly before lifting Fairy Godmother's wand.
Closing her eyes she held the lilac coloured wand out and spoke calmly and clearly. "I command this wand brings back our kingdom to its natural beauty, all the stuff that happened in Fairy Godmother's rage shall be fixed and forgotten!"
The wand gave off a bright flash of light as they closed their eyes. They hesitated as they slowly opened their eyes, giving an amazed gasp they looked around their kingdom.
Grass green and lush, trees back to their natural state with big, ripe fruit growing heavily on the branches, the castle beautifully restored and new, the Far Far Away sign fixed and white.
They turned to Donkey's grave and gave an awed gasp. Upon Donkey's grave was a white statue of Donkey bravely holding a sword in his mouth.
"Our kingdom is beautiful again!" Lillian gasped. "Come on then kiddies! Let's get back inside! I don't know about you but I could really use a royal shower!" The king marveled before waddling toward the castle.
Fiona, Charming and Lillian all gave each other an amused glance before following the king. Fiona looked around as they neared the castle. "It's amazing, it's like nothing ever happened.."
Charming put an arm around her "isn't it great?" Fiona nodded numbly and walked up the stairs. Taking a deep breath she opened the doors, nothing was different.
Everything looked the same as to when she left to find Charming, giving a smile she ran over to the millions of books on the shelves in the next room.
"Even the books are the same!" She smiled with glee. Charming looked to Fiona and laughed before turning to Fiona's mother. "Fiona my dear, I'll be right back. I just need to have a word with your mother."
Fiona nodded and waved her hand looking at her book. Charming smiled and escorted Lillian to the next room.
"I'm so glad I'm home again," she smelled the book and held it to her chest before walking around her castle. Walking up the flight of stairs, she came across her bedroom door.
Opening it the door she looked around, her king sized bed with red silk sheets, her wide open windows with a faint breeze slowly moving her curtain.
I'm glad everything is back to normal..slowly walking over toward her window she looked out at the statue of Donkey and sighed. In the corner of her eye she saw a grey object move.
Leaning out of the window to get a better look she saw a thin grey tail with a black tuff of fur disappearing beside a village shop. "That looked like.." quickly retaliating her head she rushed out of her room down the stairs.
Charming was standing beside Fiona's mother and father as they shared a laugh, "I think it would be a lovely idea Charming!" Lillian smiled.
The king nodded "yes! And to the future little on-, oh Fiona!" Fiona walked down slowly and stopped beside them. "What's going on?" She asked.
The three gave an knowing look and turned back to Fiona "oh nothing at all dear, your mother and I are just going to make some lunch dear that's all, come on Lillian!"
Together the king and queen hurried out of the room leaving Fiona and Charming to face each other. "Sooo?" Fiona asked turning to Charming.
Charming smiled "Yes, yes. You're probably wondering why I was speaking to your parents." He began and Fiona nodded. "Well the thing is, we were kind of talking about you." He said talking a step closer to her.
Fiona tilted her head "What's there to talk about?" Charming put a hand on her cheek. "Ever since I saved you from that tower you know how I felt for you," Fiona listened quietly.
"After watching you yesterday, risk you life to save Far Far Away made me realise something." Fiona raised an eyebrow. "Whaaat...?" She asked suspiciously.
Charming smiled and got down on one knee with Fiona's hand in his. Fiona gave a slight gasp. "Fiona, I couldn't find anyone else more perfect than you, you're beautiful, strong and can take care of yourself when needed,"
Fiona put a hand on her mouth. "Watching you defeat fairy godmother made me have a different thought about you, I don't only want you as a friend or a girlfriend. I want you to be my wife, to be by my side for years, to be the queen I believe you can be."
Charming pulled out a golden band with a huge Dimond attached, "Princess Fiona of Far Far Away, would you do me the incredible honour in become my wife?" Fiona half sobbed half chuckled.
"Yes, YES YES YES! A thousand times yes!" She shouted. Charming grinned and placed the ring on her ring finger before lifting her up and kissing her passionately.
The king and queen in the other room shared excited glances, "Looks like we get a son after all Lillian" the king spoke softly. The queen wiped a tear from her eye. "A son we will be proud of for many many years, even when we're gone"
The king and queen walked out to join Fiona and Charming. "Mum. dad! Look!" Lillian and Harold laughed as they looked at her ring. "We're very proud of you dear."
"I promise with each beat of my heart I'll always protect her and treat her with the amount of respect she deserves" Lillian put a hand to her chest.
"She's very lucky to have a prince like you Charming and we welcome you into our family with arms wide open" charming looked at Fiona and hugged her tightly in his arms. "I love you Fiona!" Fiona blushed and looked up at him. "I love you too Charming!"
