"On the count of Three...1, 2, 3!" Everyone set off, Nari sitting behind Renjun as he steered the broomstick. Her arms instinctively looping around his waist to steady herself.
"You never replied to me." He began, over the harsh winds and the zooming of the other people. Nari sighed and remembered how she spent her holidays- crying. She kept crying and crying till she couldn't anymore.
"I know, I'm sorry." She yelled over the noise, feeling beyond guilty. "I just needed time." Renjun didn't reply right away, instead he mulled over her words. He was her best friend, they were meant to be there for each other. However since she had met Jaemin, he couldn't help but feel as though him and Nari began to drift.
There wasn't as many sleepovers or tickle fights, there weren't movie marathons or fashion shows. There was less laughing and less time together. It just wasn't the same and it hurt. It really did.
"It's okay." He replied quieter than before, his voice laced with disappointment as he weaved through the clouds. Puffs of black smoke appeared and Nari jumped slightly in shock. Lightening struck the clouds and the sky became dark. Spells were being shot at from every direction, yelling and sounds of pain made Nari grip tighter onto Renjun.
She managed to keep a steady heart as she shot out her own spells, ducking from the ones aimed at her and deflecting the ones she could. Nari spotted Mark and Hagrid who were being chased and she immediately started shooting spells at the dark figures, watching as Mark and Hagrid sped off into hopeful safety.
"I like your hair by the way." Renjun called out, ducking out of the way from incoming spells, passing Jeno on the way. "Thank you, I think I was overdue a change." She chuckled slightly, remembering how impulsive she was during her anger stages after the break up. She still wondered how he was, what was he doing? Did he still think of her? How was Donghyuck? Was he lying too?
"You look beautiful." Renjun complimented, "as you always do." He muttered, throwing out a spell in another direction. Nari smiled and her spirits lifted as he did so. No one had complimented her yet, but Renjun never failed to.
"Have you...have you seen anything of Jaemin?" Nari said, seeing the flashes of the black death eaters in the sky- a glimmer of hope wanting one to be him. Renjun's heart dropped as his name escaped his lips and he was bought back to reality when he laughed internally at himself.
Of course she still liked him.
But he couldn't dwell on it much longer as Nari yelped in pain and clutched her abdomen.
