"Jaemin."
The boy looked up from the desk at the sound of his name, eyes landing on his cousin who stood noticeably on edge. "What is it Donghyuck?"
"Do you...miss them?" Donghyuck's voice was small and vulnerable- more exposed as his emotions began to rise.
"Miss who?" Jaemin said uninterested, sighing and scribbling out what he wrote. Donghyuck walked further into the living room, standing closer to the boy.
"Nari... Jeno, Chenle, Renjun, Jisung and Mark-"
A laugh cut Donghyuck off from his rambling, his smile dropped as he watched Jaemin scoff out a laugh. "You're asking me if I miss them?"
Donghyuck slowly nodded, Jaemin raising his brows and looking at his cousin. "Are you being serious?" Jaemin asked after noticing his upset demeanor.
"Nari though...you-"
"I what?"
"You...you liked her!"
"Did i?" Jaemin challenged, standing up and gathering the sheets of paper.
"You didn't? But I thought you said..." Donghyuck's shoulders sagged down and a frown placed on top of his lips.
"I did like her you're right...but certainly no more than a friend."
"What? You dated her, you were bonded to her you-!"
"I used her."
The simple sentence left Donghyuck's mouth agape and shocked at his unrecognisable cousin. "You know Nari is wanted- Your Mother killed her parents- the Dark Lord wants her so..." Jaemin continued.
Jaemin walked towards Donghyuck, standing in front of him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"I followed my orders."
"You're sick." Donghyuck spat, tears gathering in his eyes. "I don't want this anymore, I can't-" "You don't have a choice."
"I hate this!" Donghyuck yelled out, kicking the leg of the chair. Jaemin's eyes fell to the chair and back at his cousin. "Someone is going to hear." Jaemin warned.
"I don't care! I don't want to be a deat-!" Donghyuck was cut off by Jaemin grabbing his collars and pushing him to the wall.
"You're going to end up dead if you continue Donghyuck and you'll drag me down with you." Jaemin growled out quietly.
The first tear fell out of Donghyuck's eyes, followed by another and another. "I hate you!" Donghyuck pushed against Jaemin's chest, but he didn't give in. "Why would you lie, they were your friends!"
"I had to, he chose me!" Jaemin argued back, gritting his teeth.
"I'd rather die than be the person you've become!" Donghyuck snarled out, pushing Jaemin back, making him stumble.
He harshly wiped his eyes and choked back a sob, yanking the door open and leaving Jaemin by himself.
