 You ask what’s wrong

But do you really care?

We have annual assemblies talking about bullying

But we don’t talk about the fact that the main reason most of us are like this

Are because of our parents

The ones who are supposed to love us are the ones bringing us down

The ones who once made you smile are the reason you frown

You underestimate us and you think that we’re stupid

You say we can’t understand

We’re too young to do so

Why do you underestimate my mind span?

How is it that I can wrap my head around the fact that everyone in school and out suffers from things like criticism, especially from their parents

But you can’t seem to be able to wrap your “advanced adult mind” around the fact that your words can be the reason we no longer want to survive

“You’re too young to understand love”

I guess I am

I guess that’s why I hate everything

Because I don’t know what love is, right?

But weren’t you supposed to be the ones to show me what love is?

Parents

I understand everyone has bad days

But when you have a child

Please be careful of what you say

Because on days like those are the times you spat out the words

You’re worthless

Useless

You can’t do anything right

It doesn’t bother us sometimes

No

It hurts us

Because we believe you

We have to believe you

We grew up believing in every word you’ve said

So stop blaming us for wanting to be away from you

We’ve had enough

We can’t take it anymore

I can’t do this anymore

I’m sorry, mother

I don’t even want to be near you anymore

How sad is that?

When it gets to the point where we no longer want to see you

Because you’ve hurt us so many times

And we just can’t understand why

Why?

Is it something we did wrong?

It must have been

Because according to your words

I do everything wrong

I can’t do anything right
