Chapter 1 - History Olivia Holt

"Be careful and stay away from boys you hear? Dylan will be your shadow at all times if you ever need to talk I'm just one call away ok?" My dad said holding tears in his eyes I nodded rolling my eyes hiding my own tears and hugged him.

I got in the car and Dylan drove off I looked out the window thinking about the past when I was happy. My mom was still alive and Ace was still in there for me. Let me explain who I'm talking about.

Ace King big asshole to everyone but me, he had dark hair and golden eyes with a smooth perfect face he been my best friend since birth litterally, our moms shared a hospital room; he had been born 10 seconds before me. Later when we were twelve asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes, we were happy for three years; Until he had to move we were devastated to say the least and my life took a turn for the worst from there on out.

I started reading my books while Dylan annoyed the crap out of me. We finally got there and I bolted from the car running to a crowded part of campus so Dylan will have a hard time finding me. I was walking so I wouldn't draw attention to myself when I looked over and saw the most handsome face I'd ever seen.

He looked older, more mature but sadder; his smile didn't meet his eyes the way they used to I didn't see the spark. Should I go over there? Would he recognize me? Would he want to see me? Does he have a girlfriend? Did he miss me as much as I missed him? I was going to walk passed and ignore him like he might want but I missed him so much. I switched languages because I saw a group of guys around him and if he were to reject me it would be in a language only I understood. 

I took a deep breath and ran towards him and jumped on him hugging him hard throwing him off balance which was odd because he was about 6'5 of pure muscle  and I was a twig although I was strong it didn't show not enough to throw Ace King off balance though. "What the fuck" I heard him bellow his voice is deeper now and smooth like honey still he was using the same harsh tone he used with everyone but me; time to surprise him that is if he remembers me.

"Et vos mango clauitis STULTUS feui non est?" I demanded  (translation: shut up you big oaf can't I enjoy this?) He froze instantly and his muscles tensed up "Pix" he yelled hugging me back this felt familiar, safe, I was happy for the first time in a while. I swear I heard a crack from how hard he was hugging me I gave him a peck on the lips "I missed you so much Pix" he said I chuckled about to respond when a throat cleared.

Ace put me down but did not let me go "oh right boys meet Pixie the love of my life that I haven't seen in 3 years" he introduced  they all looked shocked "Pix meet Ryan, Billy, Magnus, Elliot, and William" he introduced "Ego confido in ea et vos anima mea" he added quietly  (I trust them with my life and so can you) I nodded "hi nice to meet you, anytime you wanna hang out you can nobody has made his eyes shine like that and you seem pretty cool" one of the boys said I nodded at him "oh don't forget the fact that he hasn't dated and I was starting to think he was gay" another added I think his name was Elliot I laughed Ace growled.

Then I heard shouting "Pixie why the hell did you run off; and to a group of boys no less and he's holding you" it was Dylan and I realized that he was talking in Spanish  so I yelled back "you don't own me and I've known him since I was born so you don't get a say in anything call my father if you don't believe me" you could tell I was mad "fine I will" he huffed like a child "Quid agatur in inferno quis?" Ace asked sounding hurt and accusatory as he let me go (Who the hell is that and what's going on?) Oh he must think Dylan's my boyfriend I kissed him "sicut gradus frater meus annoying over protective" I assured him (just my annoying over protective step brother) he looked down at me and held me again his head nuzzled in my shoulder which he had to bend down to to do but he must have remembered that it calmed me down so it's his signature position.

The sound of Dylan's voice broke me out of my trance "she ran away from me and then when I finally find her she's with a group of boys and one of them is acting like her boyfriend and not letting her go even when she told him to" Dylan said "I did not" I screeched while everyone else said "she did not" dad sighed his tired sigh he knew Dylan was just trying to win an argument by making me seem innocent. "Can you show me my daughter and this mystery boy?" My dad asked equally as tired Dylan turned the phone so he could see us.

Ace and I laughed at my dad's face it was priceless "Ace?" He asked "yep" we said at the same time "been awhile how's your parents?" Dad asked "they're good and you didn't hear this from me but they are planning a winter vacation to go boarding and planning to stay at the Thompson residents" Ace said and knowing him he winked at the end. My dad laughed  I smiled I missed this.

"I didn't know it smiled" Dylan muttered  and my smile vanished "shut up" I growled at him with narrowed eyes he held his hands up in surrender "now fuck off" I told him after he hung up "how the hell did your dad approve?" He muttered to himself I just smirked "Common let's go" Ace said we walked inside to the office this is gonna be a fun year.
