I did my normal night routine as I thought about how much had changed which I know it's cheesy and crap but it's true; for starters, I don't have to deal with my annoying stepbrother, I'm not constantly reminded of my demons wherever I look, and my best friend, my childhood sweetheart, had joined my life again, I was happy. Ok, I'm getting way too sentimental right now I need to go to bed so I tried I really did and I was fairly successful I got a whole 2 1/2 hours of sleep!

I woke again around 3:40 am 'not bad' I thought to myself I got up and went to the bathroom and did my morning routine taking a quick shower as well. When I got completely ready I saw it was 4:00 am I had taken 20 minutes?! That is a long time for me I decided to start reading when my phone went off I saw it was a message from Ace and a smile unconsciously slipped on to my face.

I grinned at his childishness

I replied grinning thinking about how this could play out

I grinned at his response so he decided to play along I got a wicked smile

Then the texts stopped coming and I got slightly worried had I taken it too far? I checked the time 5:30 dang we had been texting a while I waited for a few minutes to see if he would text again but instead I got a quiet knock on the door I grabbed my bat and started twirling it in my hand like you would a wand or a drumstick. I opened to door still twirling the bat ready to strike if needed when I saw a very worried looking Ace, he looked like a hot mess. I stopped twirling the bat and he engulfed me in a hug I hugged him back surprised by the sudden action "I'm so sorry I didn't mean any of it I swear!" He said wow that made me feel bad "Ace you realize I was kidding right?" I asked cautiously he froze. "You were?" He asked I nodded into his shoulder so I could hide the smile on my face he sighed in relief "thank God!" He exclaimed we started to walk to my room and we sat on my bed.

"Why didn't you answer was it a big master plan to get me to come over to cuddle?" He asked me I grinned mischievously then gave him an innocent look "I don't know what you're talking about" I said acting oblivious he just smiled and shook his head I cuddled further into him "when is your first class?" He asked me "11" I yawned which surprised me I was getting sleepy I listened to his steady heartbeat and even breathing. When he started humming that was the last straw and I fell into peaceful darkness.

I opened my eyes to see my painted walls I felt extra warm and comfortable and immediately knew Ace was with me I looked over to him to see his bright golden eyes staring at me already I gave him a small smile "good morning, again" I said my voice deeper and husky, stupid morning voice "good morning my beautiful thief, how did you sleep?" He asked his morning voice was hot, really hot it was much deeper and rougher, raw even, with lots of husk, it drove me nuts. "I slept well, thanks to you" I replied and checked my phone to see it was 7 am.
