Eight years have passed since then and I graduated from the Academy as the top of my class. Grandpa had passed away a month after my graduation but he was proud of me before he went to join my family in the afterlife.

I had been assigned to team B, which included the worst set of people but with my leadership we became better than team A after a year. We had a lot of missions and our current one was to kill a vampire who had been rogue in California.

"Do you have eyes on the vampy?" Melody asked me on the new communication device she built so that vampires wouldn't be able to hear her.

"No. I know she's following me." I said as I ran through the woods dressing like an ordinary citizen.

"Great. I'll just ask Stephen to keep sight of her." Melody responded making me chuckle.

"Where is Carmen?" I asked as I kept on jogging.

"Around, she's been wanting to test out Dylan's new invention on the vampire. You know how Dylan is when his making new stuffs."

"He always wants to see it on the battlefield." We both said before Melody laughed.

"Well see you later Captain." She said before she cut off.

I ran down the woods and then paused when I sensed the vampire was very close. I was about to continue jogging when I heard her coming at full speed before then she pushed me to the tree making me to hit my back and fall down.

I watched the female vampire whose whole eyes included the white part were red and blood was dripping down her mouth. She was a reaper, a vampire who couldn't control the way they fed on blood. I hated any vampire that was willing to hurt anybody just to have their fill.

I stood up quickly then I took out a handle from my pocket and pressed a button making it to grow to a sword. One of Dylan and Carmen's designs. I twirled it around as I watched the reaper who had her eyes on me.

When she ran close, I was prepared and then blocked her attack before I slashed my sword but she dodged. She kicked my sword away then tried to punch me but I dodged and held her hand before I flashed UV ray light on her making her to scream and fall on the floor.

I threw the UV ray bomb at her making her to scream as it hurt her. Usually vampires got daylight rings but when a rogue transformed, they usually forgot about it and wouldn't care if they lost a sentimental part of them.

I quickly picked up my sword and then went for her head but she sacrificed her hand resulting in me slashing it and her escaping. I knew that deep down there was no escape so I walked out of the woods to see Melody's van waiting for me.

"You kill her?" She asked as she licked her Popsicle.

"No. I'm sure Carmen will get to her." I said then I entered the Van to see Yuri.

"Your hurt. Come let me heal you." Yuri demanded making me to realize my hand was bleeding.

"It must have been when she hit my sword away." I said before I handed Melody my sword who started to study it.

Yuri placed my hand in hers and then her hands started glowing a white light before she stopped. My hand was a good as new as I smiled at Yuri who smiled back.

Yuri was a Japanese immigrant who came to America to live with her loving godparents after her parents were murdered by a vampire. Though she received justice, she wanted to help others and joined my team a few months ago.

The Hunters Academy was a school built for humans to learn how to destroy any supernatural they picked and I had taken vampires as a course.

We had witches who were born with only the ability to heal and cast spells on plants but we preferred to call them healers. They were hard to find but not difficult to breed so our school didn't have much of a scarcity finding or breeding them.
