I woke up to one of the most horrible dream or rather should I say memory. I relived the memory of watching my families dead body but a hand stretched out to a depressed me and it was Vladimir.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best because I didn't want to be attached to the vampire at all. I was a hunter and me being involved with Vladimir was a slap on my profession's cheek.

Vladimir was already gone when I woke up, so I decided to make myself useful by doing a little investigation on his private life.

I entered his private study that he wouldn't let anyone in but being the smart genius that I am, I got myself inside with his key that I made a duplicate of. I searched the drawers and then everything was simply boring or unimportant.

I was about to leave the study when a thick book that looked like a Bible caught my attention. It was weird for a vampire who had witch blood to have a Bible in a very odd looking position that no one would notice.

I need to it and then pulled it out before I opened it and turns out it wasn't the holy Bible. It was actually... Wait. It was about me and my family?

It had recorded about my family's death, the investigation, even a copy of I and Adonis birth certificate was here. It had a picture of my grandfather taking us in and I in the academy.

My eyes widened in surprise as I looked at the shelf where I had gotten the book to see a very familiar lunch box. I dropped the book on the table and then I picked the box and opened it.

It had dried blood that stayed over the years and it looked preserved even with the smell of dried blood stuck on it.

"Adonis." I turned back to Vladimir who stared at me in surprise making me grit my teeth.

"It was you back then wasn't it? You were that vampire I helped." I said making him silent. His face was poker but his eyes spoke his sadness at my discovery.

"Yes. I couldn't throw away that box or get rid of your scent ever since." Vladimir confessed as he walked in closer.

"How did you get hurt?"

"I was hunting down an original, my brother and his lackeys but I was outsmarted."

"What does that have to do with you investigating my whole life?" Vladimir kept quiet with his eyes never leaving mine. He definitely wasn't telling me something.

"Forgive me for not telling you everything but my brother's pets killed your family." Vladimir confessed making my heart stop as I dropped the lunch box on the floor.

"When you helped me, I stayed around but I delayed finding them thinking they had left town, if I had known then, your family wouldn't have suffered like that. I still bear the guilt till this day but I promise you that it isn't the reason why I want to get close to you." Vladimir explained as I tried to recollect everything he said.

His brother killed my parents and my lovely sisters. Avery was blind all because of his own relation. I just wanted to snap and that was exactly what I did. I snapped.

"So you lied to me! I can't believe my brother even trusts someone like you! I wouldn't be surprised that you planned the kidnapping." I said out of anger making Vladimir shocked.

"I would never stoop so low as to kidnap a child. Yes, I made some mistakes but I will spend an eternity redeeming myself."

"I don't need your redemption, what I need is for you to tell me where that bastard of a brother is!" I demanded as I grabbed his shoulder tightly.

Vladimir looked me down before he removed my hand. He looked me in the eyes with guilt on his face and then I jolted slightly at the emotion in his face.
