Chapter Nine

I woke the next morning to see that Adonis, my love interest wasn't there beside me even though he hadn't comforted me after hours of rough sex that made my body still cry in pain.

He always lost to me in a fist battle but when he had hit me to the wall and bit me, he had made me too weak to do anything but obey his desire for my body. He was the first person, the first man, the first human man to ever top me for as long as I've lived. He was simply too perfect to not be wanted in a sex industry as a pornstar.

I sat up and then my lower back hurt so bad that I laid back down without a second thought as I stared at the time. It was twenty one minutes past ten. Longer than I've ever slept in a longtime.

I stood up when I felt the pain subside before I walked without a single cloth on my skin to the bathroom.

"He really loves to bite for a human." I said as I looked at my body that was designed in hickeys before I took a warm bath which helped with my back.

When I was done with everything, I wore my clothes, burnt the sheets and then dropped a letter on the bed telling the maid to replace it with new sheets when she comes to clean up.

"Sir Vladimir." I heard a soft voice, Avery call out to me as I was walking down the halls to look for Adonis.

"Child, how may I help you?" I asked before he stretched out his hand for me to hold since he was blind and I took it.

"Well sorry but could you lead me to I and Adonis room. I would tell Yvo to do it but his a little busy and Liana is out for a quick errand.

"No need to explain or hide the fact that Yvo's found his mate." I said aware of the situation before Yvo even knew.

Avery blushed at the fact that I discovered the truth before I held his hand and then we started to walk. He squeezed his nose a little before he turned his head to my direction.

"You have a tiny trace of Adonis scent on you." He said before I paused and look at the blind human boy. "I have an acute sense of smell."

"Then I choose not to explain anything to you child. Don't give me that excited grin." I said when Avery started to grin like a Cheshire cat.

"I'm just so happy. Adonis hates all vampires even the good ones and his so obsessed with his job, he doesn't have a romantic life or stays home. He also seemed to be more relaxed than usual here." Avery said as I gave him an unbelievable look, not that he could see it but he could sense the emotion I was emitting.

"So what do you want from me?"

"Help my brother be more human and less hunter. I miss the him I knew when I was younger, the him that knew how to smile." Avery said before he stopped and looked at me.

"You trust me too much child." I said before he giggled.

"I'm not a child, I'm Avery and this is my stop. Bye bye vampy." Avery said like a little kid before he entered his room with a cheeky smile.

"I'll never understand humans." I whispered before I walked to where I could smell Adonis.

Adonis was smirking with an acquaintance of mine as if they had been friends for a longtime before he looked at me and stared daggers.

His blue eyes glared into my red eyes before Genesis called our intention from our staring contest. We both looked at her before she pouted that I had taken Adonis attention from her.

"Vlady, morning. Sorry to intrude but I was just so curious to see Adonis and God, his an awesome young man." She said before Adonis chuckled and looked at me.

"I'm sorry to disrupt your conversation but may I speak to Adonis. In private." Genesis looked at Adonis who silently nodded and then she stood up and then walked past me with a smile on her face.

"What is it?" Adonis asked with a scowl on his face.

"You left me early in the morning to flirt with Genesis. She may look innocent and playful but she is as dangerous and venomous as a snake in its environment. Stay away from her."

"So? I like my women dangerous and slightly salty. I also thought that our deal was a no string attached contract. Or..." He paused and then he stood up making me to look up into his face as he made me walk backwards.

He placed a hand other wall as he held my chin and then played with my lips gently. "Are you jealous?" He asked with his eyes glowing in expectation.

"I am a vampire, I can't feel jealousy." I responded before he bit his lips and laughed.

"Of course you are but your also a witch which means a part of you has a soul. Feelings."

"Unacceptable. We'll just have to see human." I said before I removed his hands from my mouth and then I walked away making him to laugh.

I won't give that human the satisfaction of embarrassing me. Maybe I'll just give him a little pain when we battle. I thought as I walked out of there to resume my duties.
