The clouds of swirling of smoke becomes thick around me. The only thing I can see is the colors of it. I feel a weird tingling sensation flowing trough my body. Like when you put your fingers to a small source of electricity. The hairs on the back of my neck stand.

When the sensation stops the smoke starts to clear. As my surroundings come to view I look around. Old, dark buildings in rough conditions surround me. Even though I don't know my current whereabouts, something feels very familiar about the look of the place. The dusk of the sunset barely giving off any light, and a deep musty scent of the alleyway filling my nose, I begin to walk and look around. People in torn and dirty clothes are either walking around or sitting against buildings. Some children running around laughing, make me smile as they rush past me.

This oddly enough reminds me of the Isle of the Lost. But that can't be possible, can it?

"What do we have here?" A gravely voice says loudly as I step into a shopping district.

I see a man stand up from a chair. His hair filthy and matted, teeth rotted, and dirt coating his face.

"You look to nice to be from here," he grins," what's in the bag?"

???

I look up from the alley I'm in as I hear,"What's in the bag?"

Thinking maybe there's something I can steal.
I see a girl in odd but nice clothes being confronted by a shop owner. She adjusts the bag that's attached to her back by straps that wrap over her shoulders. I assume due to her being uncomfortable.

She shakes her head, her long silver hair fanning around her," trust me, you don't want to try for it."

Her voice full of strong will and unfazed by the rough looking man in front of her. Her head held high as if the man before her isn't a threat.

I lean against the wall to watch, curious of how this will all play out.

The man grins wide as he reaches for it, clearly ignoring the suggestion from the girl. But with out missing a beat she grabs his arm, twists it behind his back, then kicks him in the back sending him face first into the ground.

He stands up and attempts to wipe the new dirt off his already dirt covered face and glares at her," I was trying to be nice with it. Seems like you need to learn a lesson."

She stretches some and replies in a uninterested tone," no one ever learns the first time. Oh well, I can go at this all night."

I raise an eyebrow as a smirk pulls at the corner of my mouth. The scene before me being more entertaining then I thought it would be.

He swings at her with a grunt, but she ducks under it and sweeps his legs out from under him with a knelt down roundhouse kick.

She stands back up with a sigh," a punch really? Step one of besting your opponent, don't be predictable."

He grabs her leg to try to pull it out from under her.

She simply stomps his hand off her," step two, if you're going to do something, follow through with no hesitation. Quick reaction time is everything."

People all throughout the street are watching the fight, no longer interested in what they were here for.

He stands up babying his hand slightly, a scowl on his face," you're just a little smart ass, aren't ya."

She shrugs," if that's what you want to call me for trying to help you learn to fight, sure why not."

He lunges for her, pure fury on his face, all caution forgotten. She gracefully spins out of his way and slams an elbow into the back of his head, once again sending him to the ground. This time she slams her foot down into his back and holds him down.

She looks around, holding her head high while her voice is loud and unafraid," This is what happens when you underestimate someone. Does anyone else want to try me?"

The onlookers hurriedly go back to what they were doing, avoiding the girl.

I watch as she shrugs and begins walking.

Intriguing. Imma have to keep an eye on her.
She may prove to be of some fun.

I continue on my way, people avoid looking at me. I guess not wanting to chance angering me. I can't shake the feeling of being watched though. I scan my whereabouts but can't find the source.

Oh well. Not my problem.

I see a kid crying to their mom about being hungry but she just shakes her head.
"I'm sorry," she says sadly," we aren't able to get anything right now."

I pull my book bag off my shoulders and open it up. I pull out a bag of chips.

I hold them out to the little boy," here you go kiddo!"

He looks at it curiously, as if he's never seen it before.

I open the bag and pull a chip out," they're called chips. You eat them, see?"

I pop the chip in my mouth and chew it to show him. Then hold the bag back out to him.

He smiles happily and takes it and begins eating some.

"Tank ou ma'am," he says with a mouth full of chips.

I smile and nod at him and the mom who looks at me gratefully," no problem!"

I close my bag and pull it back over my shoulders and continue on down the road. The grey broken down buildings still looming over me like ruins of a ancient civilization. Their presence casting a shadow that adds to the shadows from the dark cloudy sky. To others this would be eerie and unsettling, but to me it's comfortable and oddly beautiful.

The world around me being one of darkness and shadows, not of sunlight and blue sky's. The air holding a chill to it, as if threatening anyone who might be out with a freezing downpour or even maybe snow and ice.
