THE RIVER WAS BREATHTAKING. The sun was high in the sky and it's light was reflected on the streaming water, creating a spectacular illusion of glitters and burst of colors.

Grace listened to the melodious songs of birds somewhere around the swaying trees, the rumbling leaves as the wind breezed by. Her long, wavy hair of golden tendrils was one with the nature, twisting and dancing like it had a soul of it's own.

She pushed her hair back from her face, tucking a strand of stubborn ones behind her ear. Emerald orbs staring right ahead, cursing the world for making it hard to appreciate such glorious view.

Since she landed on Earth, she barely had a time to just sit and enjoy the soothing atmosphere of this green land. It was completely ironic because the humankind had been dreaming of this moment since the nuclear war destroyed the whole planet.

Now that they were here, in front of a freaking river, they had to search for a radio that was more likely a useless junk by now instead of swimming like they should had done.

Bellamy and the others had came back to the camp to gather a reinforcement. Apparently the thing that had fallen from the sky was indeed a pod, and inside it was a brunette, crazy girl. She brought a radio with her, just like Bellamy predicted, and the guy successfully threw it in the river.

When Grace asked Bellamy why did he suddenly change his mind and wanted to help to find the radio, he explained the whole situation about three hundred people in the Ark that would die if they didn't find it soon enough. Grace only looked at him blankly, nodded slowly and then followed him to the river and that was when she fucking met the crazy girl.

"You!" That tiny girl snarled as soon as her eyes caught sight of Grace. "You are Grace fucking Marlowe, right? You bitch!"

"Whoa, calm down, Angry Bird," Grace raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow, looking down at her with crossed arms. "Do I know you?"

"No, you don't," she replied, crossing her own arms cockily, "but I know you."

Harper and a few other girls quickly formed a defensive line behind their leader, ready to assist her against this little ball of fury.

"Who doesn't?" A dirty-blonde girl, who despite Grace's attempt to remember her name, could only fit to the nickname Cupcake, sneered at the crazy brunette girl.

That girl only scoffed. "I wasn't talking to you." And then, she whipped her head back to Grace and continued menacingly, "You fucked him up real good. He really loved you, do you know that?"

Grace narrowed her eyes dangerously. "Who the fuck are you talking about?"

"Adrian," she said coldly, "Adrian Matthews."

And just like that, her mind went through a flashback about a handsome young man who would do anything for her and the one she owed her life to for sending her to the ground and keeping her alive while in the Ark.
