A/N: Hello there. So, I didn't write this, but a good friend of mine did, Bc I asked them to. They love this particularly and underrated ship, so here goes nothing!
After dropping Neil off, Hopper decided he wanted to show Kali around to the station. The car ride was silent. Kali fidgeted with her fingers, wondering if she should ask Hopper the questions she had on her mind. She eventually did decide to ask the questions, breaking the silence.
"So..." Kali cleared her throat, "How much is the salary?" She asked. Kali felt weird asking about how much money she'd be making, she thought it was a bit selfish and it made her uncomfortable.
"You get about $2,669 an hour so...$64,058 a year." Hopper replied, not taking his eyes off the road.
Kali nodded, "And how many hours will I usually work?"
"I believe five eight-hour shifts per week, with two consecutive days off. They can be on weekdays or weekends, but you don't exactly have a schedule yet so you can sleep soundly for today" Hopper said with a chuckle.
Kali went quiet for a moment to try and do the math in her head, though she didn't for long because they soon arrived at the station.
They both got out of the car, Kali feeling slightly nevours that one of the officers in there could've been someone from her previous police chases.
When walking in, Kali noticed that most people were working and payed no mind to her, making her let out a quiet sigh of relief.
She'd been looking around the station when someone suddenly bumped into her.
"Woah- shit, I'm sorry," The woman who bumped into Kali apologized, stumbling back slightly.
Kali took a moment to observe the woman. She had curly brown hair that was slightly short and blue eyes, she wore a white dress with black stripes of different patterns with turquoise-cyan belt, Kali was even able to notice the slightly visible freckles on her arms.
"It's fine." Kali said, looking the woman up and down.
"Oh right! Kali, this is Nancy Wheeler. She's going to be going everywhere with us, she just started working for Hawkins Post and is making an article about the program." Hopper said.
"I'm Kali Prasad, nice to meet you." Kali greeted, holding out her hand.
"Nancy Wheeler," Nancy replied as she took Kali's hand and shook it.
Kali giggled, "I know."
"Right, shit-" Nancy said while mentally slapping herself.
Though Nancy was usually good at introducing herself to new people, Kali made her nervous. It might've been the way Kali was dressed. Or maybe that she couldn't tell if her accent was British, Danish, or a mixture of both. But it didn't matter, Kali just made Nancy feel extremely weird.
"Well, I'm just showing Kali around at the moment so you can get back to whatever you were up to." Hopper said.
Nancy nodded and walked off, Kali watching her from behind.
"I like her, she's fun." Kali said with a small smile as she turned back to Hopper.
"I can tell. You're looking forward to seeing her again, huh?" Hopper said with a chuckle, as if he was suggesting something to himself.
Kali nodded, she had already felt an odd interest towards Nancy.
