Max was walking out of the classroom when Will gently grabbed her hand. 'Hey.' Max had a little startle. 'Sorry. Are you ok?' Max just nodded and gave him a little smile. She was obviously lying. 'Ok, walk with me to math class?' She shrugged and nodded at the same time. 'So, how are you really?' Max looked at him. 'I said I'm fine Will. Can we just...walk without talking?' He nodded. God people sometimes are just so naïve. They believe everything. And in this case, Max thought that Will believed her. Because, until then, everyone always did. She was always fine. She had to be. She just wished that someone would see through her, and just say "no, you're not fine and that's ok.". Someone to just hug her. To hold her. To love her. Just someone who would be there for her, and not ask stupid questions when she's obviously not ok.
They arrived at their math class, and just sat down, not saying one word. They spent the class like that. The class was boring, and Will kept looking at Max, like if he wanted something from her. Max ignored her friend and just decided to focus on math. Which was pretty hard because she sucks at math and had no idea how to do those equations on the piece of paper that their teacher distributed. She knows that she needs help in math, but she would never admit it. She would maybe think about asking Robin to help her, but who knows? Maybe Robin sucked too! She might have to ask Dustin. He's good at math. But then, he would just stare awkwardly and be nervous around her like he always is. It's just, sometimes the numbers that she sees, aren't the numbers that are written on the paper.
The bell finally rang, so Max quickly put her stuff back in her bag and took her backpack. After that class, Max knew that she had to go find Eleven. She took the note out and smiled lightly. She waved Will goodbye and walked away, to go meet Eleven.
To her surprise, Eleven was already waiting, sitting against the wall, with a pencil in her hand, playing with her hair, looking focused and obviously trying to solve or read something. Max smiled at that sight, I mean, how cute is that? The ginger slowly approached and sat down next to the girl, watching over her shoulder and seeing a text. Has to be history. Eleven recognized a scent and looked at her side, finding Max, trying to read her homework. 'Max!' Eleven smiled. 'Is that ok if I hug you?' How could Max say no that? She can't. So she nodded. Eleven hugged her tightly, feeling the warmth coming out of Max's body. She smelled so good. Max put her head on Eleven's shoulder, exhausted from her past days and all the changement.
They both enjoyed the hug. Maybe a little too much. But if felt good. It felt safe. Eleven pulled away, and she could sworn that Max was blushing, but she shook that thought. 'I'm sorry about Mike.' Eleven looked at Max, confused. 'He was a douche. You deserve better.' Eleven looked down and took a deep breath. 'Like you.' Max's heart skipped a beat. She tried to look at Eleven, trying to find out if she was serious, but the brunette was avoiding her gaze. 'What do you mean?' Eleven was still looking at her pencil, like it was fascinating and mumbled. 'Do I deserve someone like you?' Max had an inner debate on what to say. 'No. You deserve better.' Eleven moved her head to face Max, but not looking at her. 'What if I don't want better?' Max frowned, trying to understand. Eleven bit her lip, and sighed. She let out a shaky breath and finally spoke. She could never help but stutter a bit. 'What if...what if I want you?'
