As her jade-green eyes caught sight of the full moon, shining bright in the sky, they narrowed to small slits. The girl trembled, her eyes glistening with fear, the moon reflected in them. They suddenly flashed yellow. Pain shot through her entire body. Her face became thinner, a snout forming. Brown fur sprouted everywhere. Her fingers grew shorter, claws grew. Teeth fell out, pointy canines taking their place. Her limbs became longer. A short tail grew. Her whole body was transforming, not just on the outside. She gasped as her lungs reformed, coughing up blood as her heart shrunk. Old wounds began to bleed again. Her clothes teared, leaving her just in her coat of fur. She began to breath slower, she began to wheeze. Slowly, her brain began to change; not in shape and size, but mentally, into a brain of a werewolf. She rose her head, and howled at the moon.
Luna trudged down the dark alleyway, her clothes torn and her green eyes occasionally flashing yellow. She hated her life. She hated her parents. She hated herself. She hated the fact she was abnormal. And with abnormal, she meant she was a werewolf. On her twelfth birthday, it had all began. On the streets, alone. Her parents had sent her out, because of misbehaviour. The full moon rose, and when she finally returned home...Normal parents worry, but oh no. Just grounded for two weeks. A year had past, her thirteenth birthday had come and gone, but she still transformed into a werewolf every full moon, her parents still didn't know. It would probably stay that way forever.
She stared down at her torn clothes. She had forgotten spare ones, so she had to wear her torn ones. She hoped to slip into her house without anyone noticing. A dog barked somewhere. Luna wished she had a dog. Dogs seemed to understand her, they did anything at her will. But the only pet in the household was her mother's annoying Persian cat Portia. Portia despised Luna, almost as much as Luna hated Portia. The annoying cat ruined all Luna's monthly plans of quietly sneaking back into the house by mewing loudly.
Luna finally stood in front of her posh mansion."Lunette Asphia Lupus!"
Luna winced as she heard her full name. She didn't like Lunette. She preferred to be called Luna. And Asphia- it sounded like a flower. Luna had no clue why. The only part she liked about her name washer surname. Lupus. She was sure it was Latin, though she didn't know for what.
"Lunette! Come here this instance!"
Her mother continued to call, so Luna stepped into the light, trembling. She had a hunch what would happen next.
"Lunette! Where were you? And look at your clothes! They were expensive! Sixth time this year! I won't waste stuff like this on you anymore! Get in here!" Portia purred in Luna's mother's arms. Luna slowly stepped into the house. Her mother was fuming. Soon, both her parents were sitting on their expensive sofa while Luna stood in front of them. Her father scanned the room, for something Luna secretly hoped would break, or disappear or...anything. His whip. Luna couldn't count the many scars on her back from that whip. She hated her father. Hate, there it was again. It was everywhere. Hate was the only thing Luna had ever felt, along with sadness and. Sadness, or hate. Luna wished she could be happy, just for once. The whip cracked as his father smiled. It wasn't a nice smile. "Lunette Asphia, were were you?"
Luna's head whirred. "I wanted to walk down the streets", she lied, "I wanted to see the nightclub"
She went red, without wanting to. Lying had never been her strength.
Her father grunted. "Tell the truth!"
Luna shook her head. Her secret was not going to be revealed. Her father brandished the whip. Luna's eyes were wide. She was scared of that whip. Her father whipped her. Luna's scream echoed through the whole mansion. Her father threatened her. "Tell us or I'll whip you again."
Luna's breath quickened. But she shook her head again firmly. His father held the whip over his head, ready. Panic took over of Luna.
"I'm a werewolf!"
