"I thought you knew that."
Said Zayn.

Miranda was shocked, she could not believe that the man she had loved so much would end up being on the list of those she hated.

"alright."
She said.
"then let's do it."
She sat next to him and took out her notebook.

"how do you want the design to be?"
She looked at him.
"not here, in my office."
He stood and she followed him. Up the elevator and into a large office.

"director huh?"
She said.

"yes. My parents decided it was about time I work for the company. So here I am."
He said it so casually.

'great you didn't even get the job yourself.'
She thought.

"design?"

She asked him.

"I don't know really, maybe I should talk to your designer, maybe he can give me some ideas."
He said.

"so the book has already been read. It is as good as ready for publishing. Once you talk to the designer we can set a release date."
She said.

He looked at her, and as much as he thought he would never ever have found her again in his life  there she was, all angry and busy and corporate as ever.

To say the truth, he had always thought she would be some big hit by now but everything did happen for a reason.

"good bye, Zayn."
She said and took her leave but before she was out of Zayns sight she heard him say,
"see you soon.."

She was not shocked that Zayn had eventually come to work at his dad's
company.
She always knew that would happen, what she did not understand was why he had become such a jerk.

She took a car back and was happy that she would spend the rest of the day doing what she loved, reading.

"how was the meet?"
Sally, her coworker asked.

"don't even get me started. He was definitely the kind of guy I expected him to be. A jerk."
She responded.

"aren't they always?"
She knew they were but for Christs sake, Zayn.

She spent the rest of her day working.

When she was home, she looked at the third book she had written after having submitted the other to John Dempsey.

He was obviously a scam, he had not even called her after that. Not that she expected him to.

Her boss on the other hand had told her to keep her other book in line for those to be published but it was taking ages.

The door flew open and Jake came in.
"hey babe."
He kissed her and sat down next to him.
"still insisting on writing."
He said.
"obviously, and my boss is being a pain about the other one. I know it is not completely a hit but I know it would get readers and profit."
She said.

"but he should decide that. You can't always see faults in your own work."
He said.

"what?"

"all I am trying to say is if he told you to wait. You should. "

She knew he was right but she didn't want to believe him.
Her work needed to be perfect and she had thought it was but apparently not.

"babe we tell each other everything right?"
She said.

"yeah of course."
He said.

"I met my ex today."
She started.

"really."
He became keen.

"yes, and well you don't have to worry because he was an arse hole.
I mean who knew sweet little boy Zayn would turn out to be an arsehole."
She said smiling.

"the best are eventually."
He said and she knew so yet she felt a little excited.
She loved good guys obviously, the gentlemen and all but this was Zayn, the Zayn.
She did not exactly hate him but it was Zayn.
