Jake walked briskly to the restaurant hand in hand with Miranda. he was so nervous as he looked at her smile and giggle. he was going to propose .

he loved her so much. when he had first met her , he had thought she was a complete mess.

he still remembered that day.

he had met her on their graduation day. she was wearing a red dress and high heels that seemed to hurt her feet. she did not have her gown on , she had told him that the previous day she had had an interview that had gone completely wrong and she had had to walk back home because some pickpocket had chosen that day to steal her fare.

almost as if that was not enough , it had started raining and her gown had been rained on. he smiled.

she had been a complete mess.

" you can borrow mine. I'm done."

he had said.

" thank you so much. it would be a tragedy to graduate without a gown."

she said.

" I mean people could easily mistake you for a visitor or someone guy who just loves pictures."
she said.

he could tell she was nervous.

And that was exactly not his type. he liked the kind of girls that were organized.

A week later when she had come to return his gown , she had looked beautiful. he could still remember.

her hair was tied in a bun. she had ragged blue jeans, a white top and red high heels.

He had been drawn to her then . she had impeccable English. and was so smart.

she had still been clumsy but this time it looked cute.

after that he had found every excuse to meet her. she had been reluctant at first. something about a man having broken her heart but after a few tries , she was his.

he could not believe it.

he had thought her being his girlfriend had been a gift from the universe .

they had been at the arcade. and he had said," If I win this game, you are officially my girlfriend."

and she had agreed.

he had won by a point and she was his.

they were welcomed at the restaurant.

" what is up baby? you look so nervous."

she said.

" nothing. I hope you will have a good time."
he said.

" if there is food. then it is settled. I am happy."

she replied.

he had hid the ring in his jacket.

he wore a suit which was crazy because months ago, he was worried she would leave him because of how broke he was.

but she hadn't . she had been patient. munching on chapati and tea for dinner. and the occasional githeri.

but they had been in love. and she had not complained at all.

they were happy.

but not as happy as when he landed a job as an accountant and could afford rent.

and not as happy as when she had her book published.

and even after that they had been happy.

there were ups and downs as is the norm but they had been happy.

" we would like some champagne."

he said.

" uuu. feeling good tonight?"

she asked.

" yes. "

he replied.

she looked beautiful. red dress and red heels. and a smile to go with it.

they ate to their fill.

he hesitated when they waited on desert.

" man you are nervous tonight? "

she said.

" tell me baby, what is it ?"

she asked.

he took a sip of his champagne.

" babe lets play a game."
he said.

" sure."

she agreed.

" if you get it wrong , you will have marry me."

she looked surprised.

" of course."

he smiled.

" which movie is this song from?"

they both knew it so well .

she said.

" oh my God. oh my God."

he said.

he then got to his knees .

she looked surprised.

" Miranda Wanga Jonmi. will you marry me ?"

he asked.

" yes. of course."

she said and jumped on him.

if he had thought he was lucky then. he now had all the stars .

she had said yes.

and nothing else mattered.
