[AN: This one is dedicated to LouisCarrot14. Apparently she and her friend have an inside joke about “One Month.” Now I really want to know what the joke is. I just can’t get over people liking my story enough to have their own little jokes about it. Awesomeness!]
[ERIC'S POV]
"Fuck off Eric," Samantha replied. I just smirked. Things were going exactly as planned. She was here and alone. Little girl should have stuck with her rich boyfriend.
"No hello daddy? No I've missed you so much?" I taunted.
"You were never my father. A father doesn't hurt his own children."
"I wouldn't hurt you if you would just fucking cooperate! But I see now that you are finally doing what you should."
"Oh I am?" She asked snottily. I smiled wider as I studied her outfit. The tank and shorts made it apparent she had no weapons on her.
"You came alone and unarmed," I smirked. "Now are you ready to come with me so I can get what I need?"
"I want to talk first." Damn bitches always have to open their mouths.
"Talk then. No guarantees I'll listen."
"Oh, you'll listen. Because it concerns you getting what you want." I merely nodded rolling my eyes. "I don't like you going after Kate."
"The little bitch made it way too easy. She's a fucking idiot."
"She must get the stupid genetics from you then." I raised an eyebrow and that's when I felt hard metal jab in my back. "Because I would never come alone or unarmed. Idiot." Suddenly I was surrounded on all sides by armed officers. That. Little. Bitch. "So dad," she taunted me, "did you miss me?"
[KATE'S POV]
"Psst! Kate!" A voice called out from the outside of the bathroom door. Great. Now I'm hallucinating. "Kate!"
"Is--is someone there?" I whispered back.
"It's Liam," the voice hissed back. I crept to the door and peeked through the crack. Liam smiled back at me waving happily.
"Li, I don't know how you got here, but you have to leave before he gets back. He'll kill you!"
"Don't worry," Liam replied. "Sam's taking care of him."
"This isn't some damn spy movie! He'll kill her and then you if you don't run!"
"You are both so damn hard headed. Your idiot sister was determined to come after you alone. I appreciate that her contacts were able to find you, but I am not stupid enough to come here with her alone."
"You mean?"
"She has a plethora of police escorts with her. Sounds like they're arresting him now." I heard a drilling noise on the other side. "My new buddy Mike here was assigned to help me get you out of here. He's drilling out the lock." A quick few minutes later the door swung open, and I raced into Liam’s arms.
“This is all my fault,” I sobbed into his chest. “I should have listened to my mom and Sam. I was just so sure they were wrong. I was so sure that he had changed. Now Nora is close to death, and my family is probably worried sick.”
“Nora is fine,” Liam said. “There is one little hang up, but she’s already back home. Did you forget she was a fighter?” I giggled up at him the tears still streaming down my face.
“And it’s not your fault for wanting to believe that he had changed,” Samantha said walking into the room. I leapt from Liam’s arms to hers in a heartbeat. “I wanted to believe he had changed too.”
