[NATHAN'S POV]

I swear to God if she tries to feel up my muscles one more time I will--well I don't know what I would do. Usually I don't have any problem with female attention. But this female attention was definitely unwanted. Where is a bodyguard when you need one?

"So what does this button do?" Kate giggled yet again. That giggle was really annoying the crap out of me.

"When is Annie coming back?" I groaned. Kate had been in here for the past hour giggling, flirting, and annoying me while we waited for Annie's return. Kate had promised she would be back.

"Hmmm?" Kate responded her attention on the sound board.

"Kate, you said Annie was coming back. Where is she?" Kate ignored me playing with the sound board. "Kate?"

"Annie is like a sister to me," Kate said turning around to face me. "What exactly are your feelings for her?"

"Excuse me?"

"You have a crush on her don't you? And no, I'm not asking because I want you to like me. I want you to let her go."

"Annie and I are friends."

"I call bullshit Nathan. You know Annie has a boyfriend. It's no secret."

"I wasn't trying to break them up." I was, but I wasn't about to admit that to her. Or to myself. "Annie and I are friends."

"Oh really?" Kate looked me deep in the eyes. It was like she was trying to see if I was lying. "Then take me out on a date."

"I'm sorry?" Where was she going with this?

"Prove you don't want Annie by taking me out on a date."

"How does that prove anything?"

"It will prove that you aren't trying to remain single just so you can go after Annie."

"What if I'm just not interested in you?" She laughed crossing her arms over her chest.

"Or maybe you're just interested in Annie. Unless you really are just friends. Then a date should be no problem."

"Fine. I'll take you on a date tonight. Happy?"

"Ecstatic." She then stood and picked up her purse walking from the room.

"Wait. When is Annie coming back?"

"She's not," Kate said turning back around to face me. "She loves Zayn. She chose him.  You have to let her go." Why did hearing her say that hurt so bad?

"What--what if I can't?"

"That's why you have me. Pick me up at eight." She flashed a small grin and was out the door. What the hell?

[AMMIE'S POV]

I slammed through the apartment dropping my bags by the front door. I needed a plan. I didn’t know what my plan was at this point. Usually I relied on Carrie to help me out. Carrie. She was probably freaking out. We usually did everything together. I just couldn’t stay there. I couldn’t stay there and be Niall’s second choice. I pulled my phone out of my pocket daring myself to turn it on. After a full five minutes I finally did it.

My phone overflowed with messages and calls. Everyone was trying to get in touch with me. I deleted the text messages not wanting to read their pleas. I started deleting the voicemail without listening to it. Everyone had left me several messages except for one. Niall had left me only one. My curiosity got the best of me and I played the message holding the phone against my ear. His beautiful accent flowed through the earpiece.
