Three weeks have passed since the funeral. Mal has been feeling awful, not just emotionally but physically too. She was trying to think of any excuse of what it could be other than the one that was planted  in the back of her mind. She had been vomiting her guts out all morning. She has been very reserved since Ben's death so nobody took much notice of her extended 'illness'. She didn't want to admit it but there was like a 99% chance she was pregnant. With Ben's child !!! She cried thinking about it. If she was pregnant, this child would grow up just like she did. She didn't want her child to grow up with only one parent. Her child deserved to have know her father. Mal needed to be sure, she made a doctor's appointment. She needed to know !!! If she was , she was going to keep it without a doubt. Ben wouldn't want anything different. It hurt Mal, Ben always talked to her about how excited he was to start a family with her and now he'll never know !!!

Hours had passed and Mal had just left the doctors and was walking down the street of Auardon City to meet her limousine driver who would take her back to castle. It will be the first time she's been there since Ben's death. Of course a member of the press had spotted her and made it their duty to take a picture of her. It was her first public appearance in three weeks. The press started throwing questions at her, making her incredibly uncomfortable and anxious. Usually Ben would have saved her from those nasty press people but now she was alone. Mal just stared at them blankly, words failed to escape her mouth. Lucky for Mal, Lonnie had been around and saw what was happening and she intervened.

" Hey, nothing to see here, Lady Mal would appreciate some privacy, we're still grieving and healing, I'll have you know " Lonnie said

" Is she still 'Lady ' Mal if his ex-highness is dead ?" One rude person yelled out

Lonnie lost her cool.

" Oh, I'll have you know, she is in fact still the lady of the court. She's of higher status than you are or you will ever be, she can have you sacked in a blink of an eye, so watch your mouth " Lonnie snapped

" Okay, Lonnie. Come one, let's go " Mal said trying to calm her friend down

" I'm warning you. I'll be waiting, if you try anything " she yelled out to the very confused and intimidated press

Mal and Lonnie walked for  bit in silence before breaking the comfortable silence

" Thank you for back there, I wasn't able to handle it.... them.....anything to be honest " Mal smiled for the first time in weeks

" No problem, we're are always here for you. We really miss you Mal " Lonnie said

" I really appreciate that Lonnie. I miss all of you. I'm just trying to recover from this"

" Yeah, I know, it'll take a while but you'll get through it, we know you will " Lonnie said

" Thank you, one day, I hope "

" Can I ask you something? " Lonnie asked

" Sure, why not? "

" Why were you out here?, you haven't spoken to us in weeks And you came out here ? " Lonnie asked

" I can explain that , I had a doctor's appointment " Mal said

" Oh I'm sorry for getting mad, are you okay? " Lonnie asked

" Yes but I need to get something off my chest " Mal said

" Go ahead, I'm listening " Lonnie smiled reassuringly

" I'm pregnant " Mal said

" What ??? " Lonnie said completely shook " How far are you ?? "

" Only 8 weeks " Mal sighed

" Its Ben's kid ? " Lonnie said

" Of course " Mal said

" That kid will never meet their father " Lonnie tried her hardest not to cry

" I know " Mal sighed again

And the plot thickens 👀
