The blue haired boy groaned as his tall friend shook him awake for the fifth time.
"One more minute? Please?" Sal asked, throwing a hand over his scared face and rolling over in the beanbag. Larry rolled his eyes, he now knew how Sal felt while attempting to wake him up.
"No. We promised Ashley we'd meet her at one, it's like 12:20 dude." Larry said, shaking his small friend again.
"Fine, fine, get off. I'm getting up, I promise." Sal mumbled, pushing Larry away and sitting up. Larry wore a big goofy grin as he looked at Sal, who was at this point confident enough about his face to be unmasked around the boy. "What?" Sal asked, raising a blue eyebrow.
"Nothing. Your face is just really pretty- AHEM. Pretty cool. Yeah... cool." Larry winked awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Stop being gay and help me pick out some clothes- I'm stealing your shirts again." Sal smirked, getting up and walking towards Larry's closet. The taller male followed, leaning on the side of the closet and looking inside.
"Dude. Everything left is way too big for you, it'll be like a dress." Sal rolled his eyes and snatched a studded belt.
"I'm only stealing one cause I genuinely forgot a shirt. I brought jeans and a belt, I can just tuck in the shirt; plus who gives a damn if it looks like an actual dress, not like I haven't worn one before." Sal said, flipping his hair dramatically. Larry chuckled before agreeing to help Sal look for a shirt.
"Here- this one would look good." Larry mentioned, picking up a fully black T-shirt with a light and dark grey Sanity's Fall symbol printed onto the front.
"Thanks dude." Sal smiled, grabbing the distressed black jeans, belt, and shirt before hurrying off towards the bathroom. The boy got dressed quickly, brushing out his hair and leaving it down then returned to Larry room. The boy squeaked and quickly closed the door as Larry was midway through getting dressed himself. Sal could hear muffled laughter on the other side of the door, then Larry opened it with a devilish grin.
"If you wanted to see me in just my boxers, you could've asked." Larry teased, earning a small, playful punch from his short friend. "C'mon. Ash is already there." Larry said, grabbing the back of Sal's neck lightly and shoving him towards the door. Sal laughed as he walked out.
...
"Jesus, dude, you're obvious." Larry said as they sat outside for a quick smoke while Ash ordered.
"What do you mean?" Sal asked obliviously, looking up at his friend with bright baby blue eyes.
"You're into her. It's cool, I won't tell; but it's obvious." Larry said, a tinge if jealousy plaguing his deep voice.
"No.. actually I'm not. Seriously. You know I'd tell you if I was. I'm uh... it's not her, but you do know them." Sal frowned, subconsciously scooting closer to his tall friend. Larry chuckled a bit, swinging an arm around the bluenette.
"Sure, dude. Whatever you say. Even I can admit I used to like her, she's pretty. But not my type, ya know?" Larry replied, talking with his hands a bit; a nervous habit of his.
"What's... your 'type'?" Sal asked, connecting gazes with Larry. For the first time in a very long while, the brunette couldn't maintain eye contact. For an unknown reason he just couldn't look Sal in the eye.
"I'm not sure, really. Metal head, definitely. Kind.. they need to be kind. Like you.. you're kind. I don't really care for looks as much as personality.. I want them to feel confident around me. I want them to feel like they own the world... they'd be my world..." Larry whispered the last part, staring down at Sal with an emotion the younger boy couldn't quit place.
The moment was ruined as Ashley flung open the door to announce that the food was on the table. Larry flicked the cigarette onto the ground and stomped on it before walking into the small restaurant with Sal following behind.
"Go get er' tiger..." Larry purred into Sal's ear as he shoved the male towards Ash. Sal blushed lightly as he came within inches of Ashley's face, luckily having his prosthetic to stop a mishap.
"Woah there!" Ashley smiled, ruffling Sal's hair a bit. The truth was, Sal didn't like Ashley: he saw her as more of an older sister. But he couldn't tell Larry his true feelings.. what if he made fun of him?
He decided the best option would be to sit back and let life go as planned, not wanting to make anything awkward between the two; yet he still pondered. What if Larry liked me back?
