"Fuuuuuck yes, pass Shaggy the baggy so he can roll Scooby a doobie." Larry smirked. Sal rolled his eyes as he slumped back into the beanbag, looking around. "Chin up little dude. We're all about to get waaaaay happier." Larry joked, nudging his friend as he flopped down next to him. Sal scooted away a bit- Larry knows how much the young man hates smoking.

"You might be, I won't. But I don't wanna ruin your fun.. I gotta catch up on homework anyways. I'll see you tomorrow." Sal huffed out, getting to his feet before feeling Larry grab his hand gently.

"C'mon, man. Try it once. It'll feel great." Larry said, sad that Sal was leaving; but he wouldn't say that. Not in front of these people. These people were bad news, and Larry knew that- but if he befriended them, they couldn't hurt his real friend. Right?

"Let him go.. I'm not sure why you hang out with him anyways." One of the unfamiliars sneered. These guys were just 'friends' of Larry's whom only really knew sal, since he was with Larry 24/7.

"Because I actually care about him. I don't just mooch weed off of him, but that's all you people care about." Sal snapped back, grabbing his bag. One of the men stood up, towering over Sal by a good foot.

"What was that, freak?" The man asked, glaring at the boy. Sal stood his ground, despite their height differences.

"Did I stutter?" Sal growled out, pushing past the male. Sal then felt someone grab the strap of his bag and fling him to the ground. "The hell?!" Sal shouted.

"Dude step off. He's leaving, let him!" Larry shouted, standing up as well.

"Eh, hows about wes have some fun with this un'." A different male said, standing. The first male grabbed Sal by the hair and stood him up, pushing him towards the second male.

"Ronnie, let him go..." Larry growled, looking at the second male.

"Oi, we're just trying to have some fun!" Ronnie shouted playfully, shoving Sal towards Larry. Larry quickly bent down and carefully grabbed Sal's arm, furrowing his brows together.

"Get off... please I Just- I wanna go home..." Sal said, pushing Larry away and walking back to his apartment.

...

"Hey kiddo! Back so soon? I figured you would've stayed over. There's leftovers in the fridge." Henry said as his son walked through the door. Sal stopped for a moment, surprised that his father was home, even more surprised that he was out of his room.

"Y-Yeah... Thanks, dad." He said, rushing off to his room. Gizmo purred and yowled at the boy, rubbing against his legs. "Hey Giz." He smiled, bending down to pet the orange ball of fluff.

Sal sat down on his bed sadly, looking around the lonely room before deciding on a nap.

...

Larry chuckled as he was thrown to the ground once again. He spit the blood from his mouth and smiled with red stained teeth.

"That all you've got?" Larry growled out, raising his fists once again. Ronnie smiled and raised his fists as well, throwing a punch towards the tall male. Larry blocked it, sliding on some brass knuckles.

"Oh ho ho, getting feisty? I thought we were just playing, but ya know; this is a lovely outcome as well." Ronnie's partner in crime smiled, rushing at Larry. The boy attempted to dodge the attack, but ultimately failed as he was slammed into the nearest wall.

Larry shouted loudly, his head throbbing as he gritted his teeth then attacked, swinging towards Ronnie. The brass knuckles connected with the boy's jaw,  sending him flailing to the ground in pain.

"You fucking- we had a deal!" The other man shouted, his name only known to be Winston.

"Then you hurt him. You told me you wouldn't touch him... but you did. And now, I hurt him." Larry growled, point towards Ronnie, whom was still writhing in agony on the ground.

"He's a fucking freak! A faggot! And now I know, you are too..." Winston growled out, cracking his knuckles. "There's two choices here. A, Tell us his apartment number... let us.. have our way with him, or B, we beat your ass till you're nothing but a stain on my boots."

"Sounds fair... but what if, hear me out, you just leave Nockfell. For good. Like you said you planned on doing..." Larry growled, whipping some blood from his nose.

"Hm... that sounds like no fun." Winston smirked, clenching his fist.

...

Larry wasn't at school the next day, which worried Sal. With how yesterday was, Sal wouldn't be surprised if Larry was high, or had a bad hangovers... but the boy had a bad feeling. So he decided to skip and made his way to the apartments.

Sal quickly made his way to Larry's room to check on the boy, who was definitely a sight to see. Larry and a black eye, a busted lip, and his nose was slashed on the bridge.

"Jesus, Lar... what happened to you?" Sal asked softly, cupping Larry's cheek gently.

"They... they wanted to hurt you.." Larry said in a hoarse voice, coughing a bit. "Aren't you... supposed to be in school?" Larry asked with genuine concern.

"I wanted to check on you... you're more important than math that I won't ever use in the real world." Sal smiled from behind his mask, sitting at Larry's bedside.

Larry gently grabbed Sal's hand, which Sal responded by gently squeezing Larry's hand back, humming softly as Larry slowly drifted off to sleep.
