Sal smiled over at Larry, leaning his head on the boy's shoulder. The two sat watching some movie that both were too tired to pay attention to. It was around two in the morning, and both Sal and Larry were dozing off from time to time.

"Laaaarrryyyyy... can we sleep?" Sal asked.

"Hah! You broke first, I win." Larry replied smugly.

"Jeez, I forgot about that.. oh well. I'm tired, let me go to beeed." Sal co planned, burying his face in the other boy's chest.

"Me too, until you said something. But.. yeaaaaah.. I wan go to bed too." Larry grumbled. Sal sighed lightly and Larry picked him up and walked him over to the bed then lightly set him down. "Goodnight Blue." He whispered, kissing Sal's forehead before getting into bed next to him.

Both boys felt asleep quickly, but they didn't all stay asleep...

...

Sal woke up after about an hour, sitting up and looked around the room, his eye falling on the digital clock. 3:12. He sighed, flopping back down onto the bed. He laid there for a while until he heard a small noise coming from the kitchen. He quickly grabbed his pocket knife.

Being the curious teen he was, he decided to investigate. Ya know, cause that's what dumbasses do. He carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake Larry as he made his way out of the room and down the hall a bit.

Sal stayed quiet as he peered into the kitchen, looking to see three cloaked figures all chanting one thing.

Devour... devour... devour... devour...

The continued the eerie chant until Sal stubbed his toe on a chair. While he didn't yelp, or even gasp, the chair still moved and made a noise. All of them snapped their heads around to look at Sal at the same time, then began approaching him. Sal stepped back, his breath catching in his chest. Two of the three moved fast, like blurs, and grabbed Sal's arms. He panicked, knowing his mask was off.

Funny what adrenaline does. He didn't think about his family, or anything. He was just terrified of them seeing his face. Then his body caught up with him mind and he decided to call out for help. Yet before he did, it's like one of them read his mind and immediately covered his mouth.

He struggled, before realizing what they had come for. The crystal. Sal struggled even more, managing to kick one of the men and get away from the other. The bluenette ran at the man with the crystal, and was quickly stopped as he extended his arm and grabbed the boy's throat.

Sal gasped, taken by surprise by the attack. He hit the mans arm over and over again, the smiled slightly as he remembered the pocket knife he grabbed. He grabbed it, and raised it above his head then drove it down.

The man grabbed his hand with his free arm, stopping Sal from following through. Tv came in handy for once, as he dropped the knife and grabbed it with his other hand, then dug it into the man's stomach. The cultist dropped Sal, and stumbled backwards.

Go!

The man held his stomach as blood seeped between his fingers, then disappeared as the other two ran out of the home. All that was left was a blood stain on the kitchen floor, and a strange amulet. Sal gingerly grabbed the amulet, the stones gleaming blue against the rough black base of it. He held it up to his face in confusion, and suddenly felt... different..

He felt like the amulet had spoken to him, and before he knew it he hung the stone around his neck without a second thought. Though, he quickly grabbed it off his neck as it started burning his skin, deciding to place it into a box of other supernatural trinkets.

Sal couldn't sleep at all, so he sat on the beanbag and waited for Larry to finish his slumber.
