I needed to diffuse the situation immediately before it all exploded in my face. The good and bad sides of my life were about to go at it right in front of me, as if I had the angel and devil arguing on my shoulders.

"Can you just let go of me so I can leave Hunter?!" I yelled and tried to snatch my arm away. "Not so fast sweetheart. I need to meet this boyfriend of yours first." Hunter said.

Before I knew it, Nick was walking up and rolling his sleeves up and preparing himself for a fight that was bound to happen. "Yo! You need to let go of her man." Nick said. "Hunter let go of my arm and I saw that it was already red and forming a bruise.

"That's fine, I just needed her to stay a little while longer so I could have a little chat with you." Hunter said to Nick in a cocky tone. "And what exactly do you need to say? As far as I'm concerned my fists can do the talking for me." Nick said aggressively.

"Nick don't fight him! Let's just leave okay." I said. "You might wanna listen to her sport. She knows exactly what'll happen if you swing at me." Hunter said.

"Trust me, she knows damn well I can handle myself." Nick said.

I knew exactly what he meant, but I wasn't trying to get kicked out of school for being a part of a fight that happened on campus.

Instead of trying to break the fight up anymore, I just decided to grab Nick and pull him to the car.

"This isn't over by a long shot!" Hunter yelled. Him saying that, sent a tingle down my spine. I was scared of what he was capable of. Something was gonna happen soon, it was just a matter of time.

The drive home was eerily quiet. I didn't wanna day a word because I already knew Nick was pissed. If I spoke he'd probably ignore me or hit something, and I didn't have time for any of that.

"So are you just gonna sit there all quiet or are you gonna tell me what's going on?" Nick asked angrily. "Can you calm down first. I'm not really in the mood to be yelled at right now!" I said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you. I'm just frustrated and concerned." He replied softly.
"It's okay. Next time just let me handle it." I said.

"Next time?" Nick asked. "How do you know they'll be a next time?" He added. "Because I know Hunter. He'll keep coming back until he gets what he wants." I said.

"And what exactly does he want?" Nick asked curiously.

That question was simple to answer, but forming the words seemed impossible. Deep down I knew exactly what he wanted, and it would never change. What he really wanted was....

Me.
