A Promise to the dead Part 1

"Yikes, what happened to you?" Anna asks as I approach my locker wearing ugly grey sweats. I didn't brush my hair, I just threw it in a bushy bun.

"I couldn't sleep last night" I say feeling a little woozy. "You okay?" she asks and I nod as I lean against the locker. "I'll be fine" I say and she nods as I shut my locker.

"I'm suppose to meet Liam so I'll see you later " I say and she nods as I walk into the workout room where I see Liam. "That's a lot of weight" Mason says as I walk towards them. "I've got to get ready for the game tomorrow" Liam says.

"I totally forgot about that" I say as I lean to give Liam a quick kiss. "What happened to you?" Mason asks me. "I couldn't sleep and am to lazy to look decent" I say and he nods as Liam laughs a little.

"You need a spot?" Mason asks Liam. "No, do you?" Liam asks looking at Mason lifting small weights and I laugh. "This is my warm up and pass" Mason says. "Sure" I say as Mason walks over to help Liam.

"Wait what are you doing?" Liam asks. "He's helping you" I say. "I'm spotting you" Mason says as if it' obvious. "I said I don't need one" Liam says. I can tell somethings bothering him but I'll wait till we're alone to talk.

"I think he can handle it" I tell Mason, well aware of the strength my boyfriend possesses. "Are you kidding me, this is like three hundred pounds, you're gonna kill yourself" Mason says as if we're crazy. A part of me thinks that Mason should know but it's not my secret to tell.

Liam lays on the bench putting his hands in the bar holding the weights. "Be careful" I say worried. Liam starts to push the bar up and Mason stares at him in shock. "That look like I need help?" Liam asks as Mason walks off.

"You know, it wouldn't kill you to be nice to him" I say to Liam. "You need people like him in your life. They help make you feel like your still normal now tell me what's wrong" I say and he sighs.

"I've been seeing the berserkers lately. Ever since the night on the roof I keep seeing them hurting you but I can't do anything about it but hear your screams and cries" he says looking down and I smile.

"Liam, I'm right here. I may not be feeling so great but I'm here" I say and grab his hand putting it on my chest, just above my heart. "Even when my heart stops beating, I'll still love you" I say kissing him but I think me saying that only made him more worried.

He leans back and continues lifting. "You okay?" I ask as he looks like he is struggling. The next thing I know the weight is crushing his chest and he starts panicking.

I rush over to him trying to help but unfortunately I'm not strong enough to lift. Scott rushes in and lifts the bar. Liam bends over coughing and we all hover over him making sure he is okay. "Liam" Mason says worried.

"I'm fine" Liam says. "If you don't want to be with us, that's okay but don't push your friends away too"Scott whispers to Liam as I see an upset Mason. "You should get to class, Sofia. I'll take care of this" Scott says and I nod kissing Liam on the cheek and walking off still feeling a bit out of it.

"Sofia, do you want to come over to my house later?" Anna asks as I sit next to her. "I can't " I say and she rolls her eyes. "Why?" she asks.

"Because I don't feel good and I just want to lay in bed watching Netflix and reading Wattpad. I'll re-watch American Horror Story, The Originals and The Vampire Diaries" I say and she groans.

"You lucky child" she says and I laugh. "I'm far from it but okay" I say as I get this piercing pain in my head. "Are you sure you don't want to go to the clinic or something, you're looking really pale" Anna says but I wave her off.
