You'd usually jog around your usual park at New York every morning, not missing a single day. Why? So you could run into a certain albino and jog alongside him.

Okay, you maybe had a crush on him. He was attractive, pretty much seemed down-to-earth and somehow..it felt like you've seen him before. You couldn't quite put your finger on it, but it was almost like he looked like Kurenai Shu. Yes, you're stupid.

You had joined him for a jog as per usual, but the two of you have actually never spoke to one another. It was a jog in silence, simply enjoying each other's company.

You glanced over at the taller albino, only to notice that he had been looking at you.

"W-What?" You blurted out, embarassed.

He chuckled at your reaction, before coming to a halt, which made you stop as well.

"Nothing, it's just that we've never actually spoke, yet we've been doing this for like a month now." His smooth voice made shivers run down your spine. Shitshitshit, his voice was much better than you'd imagine.

You had to restrain yourself from fangirling and smiling like a fucking idiot then. "Y-Yeah, that's true..I..I wasn't sure if I should've said something." Oh god, did you sound stupid? Panic suddenly set in.

"It's fine. The name's Shu." . . . wait. Shu?

"Like, Kurenai Shu? That legendary blader?" Your genuine shock made Shu laugh, did you never notice?

"Yeah."

"W-What?! I've been jogging with the Kurenai Shu and I only noticed up till now?" You fell to your knees dramatically, which earned another chuckle from the albino blader.

"Don't worry about it too much, I'd be dissapointed if you treated me like I was some sort of celebrity." He offered you a hand, which you gladly took.

"I'll do my best! It's just that I-" You were suddenly pulled upwards, but it seems that Shu had used too much force, so you wound up on his chest, making you scream internally like a fucking pterodactyl.

"Oh, sorry." He looked down at you and offered an apologetic smile.

You looked up at him, genuinely surprised and your mouth formed an 'o' shape. " . . . " You went out like a light then, but Shu had luckily managed to catch you before you collapsed on the floor.

"..Did I do something wrong?" He swept you off your feet with a frown and carried you off somewhere else.

You woke up about an hour later, laying on what seemed to be a couch. You sat up and rubbed your eyes tiredly, before you were met with red hues looking your way in amusement.

"Finally awake?" The albino said with a smirk.

"W-What? S-S-Shu?!" Your eyes inmediately shot open at the familiar voice.

"That would be me, yeah." He stood up from his desk. He wasn't wearing his usual training clothes, but the trademark outfit that you were used to seeing on him. How did you not notice that you had been this close to the owner of the New York Bulls? "Are you a blader?"

"W-Who..me? Yeah, I am. Why do you ask...?" You tilted your head to the side, confused.

"Battle me, I'd like to try you out for the team myself." His lips curved upwards slightly into a smile.

What? Try you out for the New York Bulls????? That was like a dream come true!

"O-Of course! I'd love to." Fortunately, you had brought your bey with you alongside your launcher, mainly because you usually practiced after jogging.

"Follow me then." He lead you out of his office and towards a nearby beystadium. Right, he took you to the Bulls's HQ, probably because he didn't know where you lived.

The two of you stood on the opposite sides of the stadium, securing your beys into your launchers.

"Gust Zephyr, let's do this." You looked down at your bey with a smile. You had actually taken a habit of talking to your bey.

'So she also talks to her Bey.' Shu watched the entire exchange with a smile.

"Are you ready?"

"Yup." You replied.

"Ready, set!"

The two of you got into your usual stances. Shu held his launcher behind his back with both hands after changing Spriggan into left spin defense mode, while you spun around to get more speed.

"3...2...1!" Shu leaped forward, stopping infront of the stadium, while you stopped spinning and also leaped forward towards the stadium.

"Go shoot!" The two of you shouted in unision and successfully launched your beys into the stadium. Though, you felt kind of dizzy from doing all that spinning.

Spriggan had successfully gotten it's Super Z wings out, which took you by surprise. "Super Southern Cross Shot!"
Spriggan circled around the stadium counter-clockwise and you also didn't expect that.

"How's that?" He pushed his bangs out his face and he flashed you a smile. You were honestly a blushing mess then, just how handsome was this guy??

"I-Impressive, but Zephyr and I will be taking this match! Go, Zephyr! Attack!"

The two beys finally clashed against one another and somehow, Zephyr didn't instantly burst! Though, it lost some speed from the first contact due to Spriggan's sheer strength.

"Not bad, your Zephyr is a good Bey." He complimented.

"Thank you, but you should be worrying about yourself! Zephyr!" You flashed your (f/c) battle aura. "Storm counter!" Zephyr shone green and it went straight towards Spriggan and made contact with it, launching Spriggan off the stadium.

"As if I'd let you win! Spriggan!" Shu called out and somehow, Spriggan managed to land at the very edge of the stadium.

"W-What?!" You shouted in disbelief. You almost had him, for gods sake!

"Change, attack mode!" Spriggan descended downwards into the stadium and circled around with greater speed.

"I won't let you win! Zephyr!" You called out to your bey once again. "Super Zephyr Slash!"

"Go Spriggan!" Shu flashed his own red battle aura, before shouting. "Super Spriggan slash!" The two beys collided with one another, however, Zephyr instantly burst upon contact with Spriggan due to the sheer power of it's attack mode.

" . . . " You shouldn't be frustrated, but you were. Shu was part of the Spin Emperors in Japan and also part of the big 5. He was a much better blader than you.

"You held up your own, you should be proud." He walked over to pick up your bey's pieces, before snapping them back together.

"I-I am, but that means that I won't be getting in the team, right?" Your voice slightly trembled and you were on the verge of tears.

"Nobody's been able to beat me on their first try." He offered you a sympathetic smile and patted your head. "I'd love to train you myself. Welcome to the team...uhm..." He trailed off, before realizing that he didn't even have your name.

"(N)." You smiled at the albino weakly, though you were honestly overjoyed.

"Welcome to the team then (N), and welcome to my life as well." He flashed you a smirk, which made you blush instantly.

"G-Glad to be here!"
