Chara
After talking to Papyrus, Chara soon found herself incredibly bored. The conversation had been ominous and interesting but now Papyrus was back to sleeping and Chara was downstairs again, waiting for Sans to get home from his patrol. Perhaps he had news, although Chara knew that was wishful thinking. Rarely did anything new happen in Snowdin. When Chara heard the door open, she raced to the door and was delighted to see that Sans was standing there. To her surprise, he had someone else with him: a scaly green lizard-girl that was wearing a pink dress and a pink bow on her long whip-like tail. She was only a bit taller than Alphys, pretty much as tall as Frisk.
"Hi Sans! Who's this?" Frisk asked.
"I'm Liz!" The reptile girl said cheerfully. "Woah! You're a human!" She exclaimed, looking delighted. "I-I heard that there was a human living here in Snowdin, but I...WOW!" She let out a high pitches squeal, her forked tongue flicking in and out of her mouth.
Chara chuckled and rubbed her head. "Heheh. Yup. I'm a human!"
"Liz is a friend of Papyrus." Sans informed Chara . "Is he here now?"
Chara nodded. "Yeah. He went back to sleep. But he's in his room."
Sans scoffed. "Figured! He's always asleep." He shook his head.
"Do you want me to get him?" Frisk asked.
"There's no need." Papyrus's voice from behind her startled Chara , and she turned to see that he was leaning against the wall behind her.
Sans
Sans saw Chara jump. "O-oh! I didn't hear you come down!" She gasped.
Papyrus chuckled and walked over to them with his hands in his pockets. "Heh. Yeah I have that affect on people."
Liz, who had been standing quietly beside Sans, lashed her tail and let out a happy noise. "Oh my gosh! Papyrus! Is that really you?"
"Yup." Papyrus smiled lazily at the lizard monster. "It's me. Long time no see, huh?"
Liz clapped her hands against her cheeks. "Oh my gosh! I've missed you so much! You wouldn't believe how much!"
Sans was extremely proud to have been responsible for bringing Liz to the house. It was because of him that she and Papyrus were united!
Maybe this is the monster I can get to date my brother! Sans thought. A childhood friend would be quite a good match!
"You've grown." Papyrus commented as he looked at Liz. "What are you doing here?"
Liz flicked out her tongue cheerfully. "Visiting my former best friend of course!" She said.
"Ah." Papyrus said. "That's good. Good to see you, Liz."
Liz flicked her thin tail. "Want to go for a walk with me? Like old times?" She asked.
Papyrus let out a yawn and slouched. "Nah. Too tired for today, Liz. Maybe if you come by tomorrow I'll be ready."
Sans glared at his brother. "How could you be so lazy! This is your childhood friend! You haven't seen her in years!"
Chara
Chara, who had been silently watching the reunion, had to agree with Sans. It was odd, even for Papyrus, to be too lazy to spend time with someone he hadn't seen since early childhood. Someone who was obviously close to him at one point.
Papyrus shrugged and started walking back to his room. "I'll eat with her at Muffet's tomorrow. Really. No big deal."
Before he could walk away Sans hurried over to him and yanked his sweater. "Don't be so apathetic!" He snapped. "She's your childhood friend!"
"And she'll be around for a while." Papyrus replied calmly. "Just...whatever." He continued walking to his room. Sans just glared after him, clearly irritated. Liz just sighed, looking a bit sad. After Papyrus got to his room and closed the door, Sans hurried back to Liz.
"I'm so sorry! I don't know what his problem is! I'll have a talk with him about his laziness tomorrow, I promise!" Sans cried.
Liz gave him a sad smile. "Oh it's fine. I...I understand why he wouldn't want to see me. I left him, after all, and very suddenly!" She looked down at her feet and wrapped her tail around herself. "I wouldn't have been all that happy to see me either..."
Sans gasped. "Nonsense! I'm sure he's happy to see you! He's...well, just lazy." He sighed.
"I'll be going now." Liz said. "Thanks for bringing me here. I'm glad to meet you, Sans." She turned a nodded to Chara. The look in her eyes seemed strange. "And you, human." She turned and left.
Sans
Sans watched Liz go, feeling quite disappointed in Papyrus. He scowled, putting his hands on his hips.
"That was...interesting." Chara commented, watching Liz walk away as well.
"Ugh. Papyrus is so lazy! I'm going to talk to him soon!" Sans said, feeling a surge of annoyance at his brother for turning Liz away. "Poor Liz." He murmured. "It's lame of Papyrus to not spend time with her."
"Yeah..." Chara looked a bit uncomfortable . "Maybe we should talk to Papyrus later. I haven't seen you since this morning! Wanna hang out?"
Sans instantly felt better. "Yes! Of course!"
***
Sans and Chara rolled around in the snow together, laughing manically. They had just built snow sculptures of each other. Sans's was nice and quite accurate. Chara's looked like a blob."Want to go have hot chocolate?" Chara asked.
"Sure!" Sans replied, feeling quite giddy. "I'll make it!" He scrambled to his feet.
"No you won't!" Chara jumped to her feet quickly. "You always make things for me. I think it's my turn this time!" She ran to the house with Sans at her heels. Sans felt happy as he jumped onto the counter and swung his legs. As Chara made the hit chocolate he kept trying to help, resulting in her shooing him into the living room, where he waited for her. Then she brought them both mugs of hot cocoa and the two sat together on the couch.
