“(Y/N), I think we should move.”

“What? Why?”

“If we stay here, we will both have to deal with Marzia’s bullshit. Also, I think it would be fun, I mean, New York sounds fun. A lot of my bros live there and I think it seems like a fun place.”

“I used to live in New York. Then I met Michael and ran away with him to Italy. Anyways, before I bring up any more painful memories, New York is fun. I support anything you do.”

“Does your family live in New York?”

“Yea, but we don’t really talk much. When I was 16 I met Michael. They didn’t approve of him and said I couldn’t see him anymore. We started meeting in secret until one day when I was 18 he turned to me and said, ‘(Y/N), I love you and I can’t do this anymore. Let’s run away together. It will be like the movies, all romantic and stuff.’ And like the ignorant teen I was, I followed him thinking that I would have a happy ending, like your parents always want you to have. After I ran away, I didn’t call them, or speak to them at all. I don’t think they’d want to anyways, they probably hate me.”

“Do you ever regret leaving?”

“Every day.”

“Have you ever tried to call them?”

“I told you, they probably hate me. They won’t want to talk to me.”

“Believe me, when you talk to them, you’ll be glad you did.”

“Alright.”

I took out my phone and dialed their number. I put the phone on speaker. The phone rang three times, then the phone was answered.

“Hello?”

“Hi mom.”

“(Y/N)? I missed you, why haven’t you called?” She sounded like she was about to cry. When I heard this, tears welled in my eyes.

“I didn’t call, because- because-”

I was having trouble continuing. Felix noticed and rubbed my back. He gave me a warm smile that gave me the courage to continue my sentence.

“I was scared that you didn’t love me anymore.”

The tears fell from my eyes and onto the floor. Felix wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on mine. After a few seconds of him coddling me, I heard my mom speak through tears.

“(Y/N), were your parents, we would never hate you. We will always be here for you, every step of the way.”

“Thanks, where’s dad?”

I heard the phone get passed over to someone else.

“Hey bunny.” He said tearing up.

“Daddy.” I said through joyful tears. “I miss you so much, and I have so much to  tell you.”

“We can talk about it over dinner at the house.”

“I can’t, I’m living in the UK with my boyfriend. We are moving to New York soon.”

“The UK? Doesn’t Michael live in Italy?”

“I broke up with him, I’m living with my new boyfriend, Felix.” My mom picked up the phone.

“Is he cute?” I turned to Felix.

“Very.”

“Where is he from?”

“Sweden”

“Wait, Felix, from Sweden, lining in the UK. Isn’t that the guy you had a poster of in your room? What’s his YouTube name? Pewdiepie?” I blushed and turned to Felix, who was trying to contain his laughter.

“He can hear you, you’re on speaker.” There was an awkward silence.

“Well then, hi Felix, I’m (Y/M/N), (Y/N)’s mom.”

“Nice to meet you Mrs. (Y/L/N), I’m Felix, (Y/N)’s boyfriend. You probably knew that already.” He let out a slight giggle. I loved when he laughed, it made me feel like laughing with him, which I did most of the time.

“Wait, didn’t you have a girlfriend? What’s her name? Marzia?”

Felix’s eyes started to tear up. I told him I would explain what happened so he wouldn’t have to. He thanked me and gave me a hug. He exited the room as I told my mom what happened, and how me and him met.

“Put me back on speaker for two seconds.”

I did as she asked and called Felix back in the room.

“Felix?” My mother called.

“Yes Mrs.(Y/L/N)?”

“Welcome to the family.”
