Chapter 16

DERRICK POV 

For the past 5 months me and Amani have not been talking to each other at all like we live in the same house and still don't talk to each other like we used to i miss how we used to bestfriends and trust each other like if we were soulmates.

The week blew by fast and i told the trap that i was talking the weekend off so i can try and change things with Amani.

Today was Friday and i was thinking about taking Amani out on a date by going out eat to her favorite restaurant and then taking her out to the movies. 

I heard the door shut and jumped out of my bed and went downstairs with a big ass smile on my face showing both of my dimples which Amani loves.

I started at her smiling, "The fuck is wrong with you" she said 

"Nothing but i have a question." i said

"Ok what is it" she said putting her purse on the table.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to Olive Garden " i said with the same smile on my face 

she smiled and i stared at her gorgeous ass. 

"Sure let me go take a shower and get dressed." 

I made a little jump of joy and went upstairs to my room and took a shower.

I hopped out the shower and went to my closet and got dressed. Today i was gonna wear my red velvet timbs white some white jeans and a red velvet shirt to match my timbs.

I went downstairs to wait for Amani to finish so we can go.

AMANI POV

I recently bought this red velvet dress which looked gorgeous on me so i deiced to put it on after my shower i slip into my dressed and walked to my closet to get my Prada flats that matched the dress too.

I grabbed my clutch and went downstairs, at this point i was pretty big so i couldnt see my feet nor where i was stepping so grabbed onto the rail.

All i seen was Derrick staring at me, when i got down from the stairs i broke the silence, "yes?" i said.

"my bad you just look so damn good right now i had to take a min to admire you." he said 

"nigga im 8 months pregnant calm down" i said 

"ok your point you still look good Amani" 

"well thank you, you too look really good" i said 

 On the way we was bumping to 'Mixed Emotions' by Lil Tjay.

About 20 minutes later we pulled up to the restaurant  we walked in and the waitress took us to our table. 

DERRICK POV

"So tell me what encouraged you to talk to me?" Amani said

"Well i dont know tbh talking to you made me feel very guilty about Jayshawns death and i seen it wrong that my feelings for you just bash in after hes gone you know what im saying?" 

" i mean i think i know what your trying to say but now that were here can you explain more?" she said 

"uh yeah sure um... how do i put this" i said 

"is that Derrick Shawn McCoy being nervous about talking to a girl what now doesn't the world change a year ago he was the most outta pocket person ever " Amani said with sarcasm 

"shut up ha-ha"

"so hurry up and tell me"

"ok ok fine listen Amani, the day i walked in that class i seen your beautiful ass and i always wished that i were the one making the moves on you because the day i laid eyes on you i fell in love with you, in my eyes you were perfect but then i seen Jayshawn make his way into your life first you know so i backed off and when he told me that he was gonna be your bestfriend only then thats when i thought i could tell him my feeling for you but when i spoke he jumped up to me and told me he was going to ask you out once you got out of that coma and ever since then i've been different, lost and other shit i cant even explain it." i told her
