POV: BRYANT

-

I took the last moment cuffing the collar of my shirt.

I looked at myself for a moment and then down the long hallway to the pack's kitchen. I rounded the corner to see Xavier and Clinton whipping each other with the dish towels.

"Fucking hell!" Clinton screeched slapping Xavier again with the towel.

I sat down at the island they both immediately stopped to look at me

"Go on." I motioned then to continue.

They looked at each other dropping the towels onto the counter.

"Why are you so dressed up?" Clinton asked leaning over the counter.

"He has a hot date."  Xavier added.

I scuffed.

"No not that, but yes that. Well my parents are coming over to talk to River about being Luna, shifting and being my mate."

"Do you think she's up to that challenge?" Clinton raised his eyebrow.

"I have no idea, she doesn't have her wolf yet. I can't tell. I know she's special and I know she's my mate, but her wolf is still missing. I don't know my feelings."

There was a moment of silence before Xavier spoke.

"If she's not going to change for you, what are you going to do? Are you going to be able to control Briggs? Or go back to Camila?"

I clenched my fists at the thought of my ex girlfriend.

"You know she found her mate." I said hastily.
"Once she's a wolf, I don't know what I'm going to be able to control."

Xavier nodded. "I'm telling you right now, nothing in the world is going to matter besides your mate. Since you're an alpha your feelings are going to be stronger than mine."

"The hell would I know, I don't even have a mate." Clinton chuckled.

I chuckled thinking of Clinton having a mate, he was still too young to have a mate.

"It'll work out and if not you'll just be alone for the rest of your life." Xavier smirked slapping me on the shoulder.

"I better go get her now." I gritted my teeth. "Wish me luck."

I got up from the island and went up the stairs to
my room where River was staying. I had asked Jen to help her get ready previously. I knocked on the door and made a loud creek sound.

River was standing by the mantel where a large picture had still sat empty for when I had found my mate.

"River-" I swallowed hard.

She turned around to look at me. Her hair was slightly waved that tousled down her back, her outfit was a deep red. Red looked good on her.

My wolf jumped up and down, happily wagging his tail.

I smiled walking over to me. "You look gorgeous, my parents are going to love you."
