POV: BRYANT

-

I stood silently as I felt my heart pound in between my quickening breaths.

My mates a human.

As I watched Xavier walk her back to the car, millions of different thoughts and emotions filled my mind.

How was she going to ever understand my feelings for her If she didn't feel the mate bond?

How was I going to bring a human into a Lycan pack, would they except her as their Luna?

Would she ever be able to have an heir?

What were my parents going to say?

I glared over to see Clinton biting his lip giving off more of a curious face.

"Have you ever heard of a lycan and human being mates? Is that even possible?" He asked catching my stare at him.

I shook my head.

"I haven't, I don't think the moon goddess would give me a human mate If she wasn't completely fit to be my mate. It's possible that humans and lycans can be mates, I just don't know about it."

He nodded. "You had to pick the most complex girl, didn't ya?" He chuckled starting to walk back to the car.

As we approached the black Jeep that we had driven into town, I could only see one figure sitting up.

I peered over the side to see my petite mate laying bundled up so she would only take up two seats.

I took a moment to admire her beauty.

Her brown hair softly flowed around her shoulders and then down her back. Her freckles couldn't really be seen In this lighting, but I knew they were there.

Her slight shuffle brought me back to reality and I instantly opened the door the drivers side.

"What the hell did you do to her?" I demanded bringing out an alpha tone.

Xavier looked up at me with widened eyes and then turned around to see her lying down.

"What? She took it." He said settling back into his seat.

I climbed into the drivers side and with a slam closed the door behind me.

"Took what?"

Xavier paused for a moment and pulled out a miniature flask of something that looked like a light silver.

"It's a sleeping drug, laced with wolf's bane. I told her it would calm her down and she would've tried taking the whole thing if I didn't stop her."

"Wouldn't wolfs bane kill her?"

He shrugged. "Since she's not a lycan, I guess not."

I turned back to see Clinton sitting next to my still sleeping mate.

I hope she doesn't hate me when she wakes up.

The car ride back to the pack house was tedious. My thinking caused me to become angry at the moon goddess and at my human mate, which causes me to speed most of the way back.

As we arrived to the pack house, the house's sidewalk and porch was lit up to create a rustic, but modern feeling. The only other lights that were on was my room and the living room.
