POV: RIVER

-

I opened my eyes to find myself in a clearing covered with snow.

I shivered pressing my hands against my arms, rubbing them trying to get somewhat warmer.

"Hello?" I questioned curiously.

I took a breath inhaling the cold air into my lungs.

"There's got to be something around here." I muttered to myself.

I started walking in the other direction, the sound of snow and ice crunching underneath my every step.

My teeth began to chatter and my fingers became blue.

I walked a mile before I stopped and crouched next to a evergreen tree.

My eyes became heavy and I could feel my heart to begin to slow as time passed. I clenched my eyes together, imagining myself in a warm place. Bryant's touch crossed my mind and I could feel his warmth. I much as I hated him, I missed him. I wish I was in his arms now.

A high pitched howl filled my ears. I opened my eyes to only see snow and trees in front of me. I shook my head trying to get the sound out of my head.

Another howl.

I stood up looking around.

I turned around to see a beautiful white, brown and gray wolf standing yards away from me.

I backed up slowly only to find myself backed up into another tree.

The wolf crept closer and closer to me.

I stood in place praying it would ignore me and walk away, but the wolf only came closer to me.

I'd rather die quickly to a wolf than freeze to death, if it came down to it.

I winced at the wolf that was now so close to me if I reached out I would touch it.

The wolf lowered it's head to my hand allowing me to pet it.

I gritted my teeth and placed my hand to its head. The wolf pressed against my hand lowering its ears in a calm way.

I crouched down rubbing its face.

"River." I heard a faint voice.

I looked at the wolf confused. "Did you say that?"

The wolf looked startled and suddenly took off.

"Wait!" I yelled.

I gasped.

I opened my eyes to see Jen looking over me.

"River? Are you okay?" She said, her eyebrows furrowed.

I sat up, looking around. "Where am I?"

"The pack doctors. You've been in a coma for almost a week."

I winced feeling a pain in my neck. I touched the side of my neck to feel a few grooves.
