I was at the kitchen table quickly shoving cereal into my mouth when Hayden walked through the door.
He had offered to drive me to school, so for once in my life, I decided that I should probably wake up early so that he wouldn't have to wait. I was also happy that for the first time in a while, I was able to eat breakfast.
"Hayden's here!" Alicia squealed as she ran over towards Hayden, and wrapped her tiny arms around his body. "Oh, I've missed you!"
Hayden smiled, a charming one. "Hey, Alicia. I've missed you too!" Hayden then looked up at Andrew. "How are you, Andrew?"
Andrew got up and shook Hayden's hand. "Everything's good here." Andrew then looked down at Alicia. "Alicie, give him some personal space."
A frown crawled onto Alicia's lips as she walked over towards Andrew.
I finally finished eating and got up to grab my bag. "Hey, Hayden." I smiled brightly. "Sorry, I didn't even hear the doorbell."
"Khloe," Mom spoke, and I glanced over at her. "Is Hayden driving you to school today?" She was smiling so widely, I began to become scared. "If so, just remember that it's Alicia's first day back to school. You two would have to pick her up."
"Of course." I nodded my head. "Hayden, you can stop by Alicia's school, right?" I questioned glancing over at him.
"That wouldn't be a problem," Hayden stated.
"Yay!" Alicia jumped up and down. "I'm so happy."
"Alicia, let's go get you dressed," Andrew said practically pulling Alicia out of the room.
"Okay, I'll walk you two out." Mom smiled as she walked over towards the front door. Hayden and I quickly followed behind her. "I heard about your grandmother, Hayden." Mom said sadly. "I'm so sorry, she's a wonderful woman."
Hayden's eyes immediately washed over with sadness, but just as fast as they did, a warm smile spread onto his lips. "Thank you so much, Nia, I appreciate it so much."
Mom nodded her head and glanced over at me for only a brief second. "Have a good day at school sweetie." She smiled, but then she quickly looked back over at Hayden. "Have an amazing day at school, Hayden. Thank you so much for offering to pick up Alicia. You're so sweet!"
My jaw almost dropped when my mom only wrapped her arms around Hayden and then closed the door.
"Well," I laughed and Hayden glanced over at me. "I like how my own mother loves you more than she loves me."
Hayden threw his head back in laughter, as we both climbed into his car. "It's just my charm, Khloe. Don't be jealous."
I let out a loud laugh and Hayden looked away to focus on the road. The drive from my house, to our school, wasn't long at all. We would be there in the next ten minutes. "I'm not jealous at all." I grinned. "It's completely fine. I don't know if you knew this or not, but your mother loves me a lot more than she loves you."
