(Nixon's POV)

I felt bad for threatening Kadynce with Nikkol, but I didn't know what else to do. What my daughter told me was alarming, and today, I'm forced to say goodbye to her.

It made me mad.

I won't be able to just drive twenty minutes to see her, instead, she'll be hundreds of miles away.

I'm irritated.

I have been here since last night when I showed up on the Martinez's doorstep, drunk and looking for my daughter.

Right now, I'm feeling like a version of Jake in a way; a drinker. By Nikkol's words; Jake drinks then he is mean to them, especially Kadynce.

I can't do anything about Kadynce, she is a grown woman, but I have rights to Nikkol and if she asks me to, I will fight to get her here with me.

I woke up around noon to Nikkol and Kadynce bringing me breakfast from the main house.

Nikkol came to wake me up by hopping on the bed like a wild bunny.

The breakfast was for Nikkol and me, Kadynce left us alone to bond, and I appreciated her for it. It gives us time to get to know each other and our say goodbyes before it's time for them to go back home.

They are set to leave for the airport in a couple of hours.

Fuck.

"Daddy, I think you look pretty." Nikkol smiled at me, running her hand down my cheek.

Nikkol and Kadynce didn't only come through with breakfast, they also brought Nikkol's play makeup from back home and a kit to make friendship bracelets.

No matter how hard I tried to keep Nikki on the bracelet-making kick, she veered towards the makeup after she made me the perfect bracelet.

The perfect bracelet consisted of my favorite color and was made with her magic touch. When she was done, she handed me an all-black bracelet, that spelled out daddy with a white heart.

It was made by my daughter, I will never take it off.

Plus, it was badass.

At the same time, I gave her a bracelet that was light pink and lavender with the beads spelling out the word bunny.

"Do I?" I asked her, but I was too scared to look.

Nikkol laughed. "Yes." She handed me the mirror. "Look."

I didn't want to look, but shit, this is the price of being a girl dad.

Opening my eyes, I looked into the mirror expecting to look like a clown, but Nikkol actually made it look great.

"Wow." I was genuinely amazed with her work.

I had pink eyeshadow, blush on my cheeks, and red lipstick. The colors coordinated and the way she applied the makeup was pretty neat.

She also did my hair by adding pigtails at the top of my head. It was just long enough for her to gather it into two small ones.

"Do you like it?" Nikkol seemed anxious.

"I love it." I beamed. "You did a good job."

Her look of anxiousness disappeared as her facial features softened into joy.

"Thank you." She giggled. "Mommy lets me do it on her when Jake doesn't let us out of the house." Nikkol shrugged like it was a regular thing.

My eyes snapped to her in worry. "He doesn't let you guys go anywhere?" I asked her, bummed out.
