(Nixon's POV)

She's beautiful.

She's absolutely beautiful.

Her dark hair, and her smoky blue eyes; were just like mine.

She's mine.

My daughter.

I didn't want to let her go. From the time that she ran up to me and demanded my attention, I refused to let her go.

She is mine.

Kadynce said so.

Well, she didn't use words, but the look that she gave me confirmed everything I already knew.

I have a kid; I have a daughter.

I can't believe that Kadynce kept this from me. She must have been hurt when she found Ms. Daniels and me together.

"Nixon?" I heard Kadynce call my name. I'm not sure how long she was trying to get my attention, but when I finally looked at her, she looked worried but scared most of all. So terrified that she was physically shaking where she stood. "Come inside so we can talk."

I nodded. "That would be best."

She turned and started walking towards the front door of her parents' house. I fell into step behind Jake who fell into step behind Kadynce while everyone else followed us.

I didn't miss a step or a beat, my whole body had almost reached its sobering point, and that was only because of the current events; I was shocked into semi-soberness.

My adrenaline began taking over.

However, becoming sober made me feel all the misery and grief as it pains me to look at my daughter and see her so grown up. Followed by grief as I start to mourn all the years, I have lost with her.

All those years I could have built a solid, loving, and sincere relationship with her.

I deserve her.

I did nothing wrong.

Regardless, in the snap of a finger, Kadynce decided that I didn't deserve a relationship with our daughter. She decided that I wasn't worthy enough to care for and know my daughter. She denied all of my rights to her, but that will all end now. I will never leave her side for as long as I live.

"This is bad because I don't think Pierce cheated on Kady." I heard Mikayla whispering with Kadynce's parents behind me, but I ignored them automatically due to the raving thoughts in my head.

"Daddy." My daughter drew breath, looking at me with a bright, shining smile. I couldn't help but smile back at my mini-me.

I knew she didn't want anything, she just wanted to say it. And I wanted to hear it.

As soon as we stepped into the house, Kadynce led us to her family's dining room. It was the same room and table where I had sex with her on the night of my graduation.

It was one of the best times we had together.

I remember aching for her long before that, but I couldn't have her due to her injuries.

We all sat down at the table.

Kadynce looked at our daughter in my lap before looking up at me, then down at our daughter to speak to her directly. "Nikkol, why don't you take your brother into the living room? I just need to talk to Daddy."

My heart skipped a beat when I heard her name, then skipped another when I heard what Kadynce called me.

I'm a Daddy.
